Good day, Hivers! It's @rufajane, back with another blog post for this week. It's been awhile since I last published a blog and that's because of our overlapping activities and performances for this quarter. One of the performance I am talking about is the experiment in our General Chemistry.

Three days before the activity, our GenChem teacher informed us that we would be having an experimental performance, so we were grouped right after. Well, that’s a normal thing for STEM students (I guess). Since the experiment involved handling chemicals, a lab gown was required (obviously). Fortunately, I already had one because my mother had it sewn last year for my older sister, so it wasn’t a problem for me.
We were supposed to have the experiment on Tuesday (08-12-25), but due to some reasons, our teacher moved it to Wednesday instead. The activity required about two hours since we had to follow detailed procedures step by step.

On the day itself, we actually enjoyed it because, while wearing our lab gowns, we felt like real chemists. It was funny how we got confused at first, but eventually, we were able to follow the procedures correctly.

The first thing our group did was assign tasks for each pair. My chemistry buddy, Andre, and I were tasked to insert a vial (with evap) into the centrifuge for the centrifugation method. We really enjoyed it! Meanwhile, another pair handled chromatography, and another did the filtration (if I remember correctly).

We were amazed watching the colors ascend and sometimes even change from their original form. It made us proud to see the results while also having fun. Despite the overlapping exams at that time, we still managed to focus on the experiment and enjoy the experience.

Perhaps *Pearl S. Buck* was right when she said: **“To know how to do something well is to enjoy it.”** Honestly, we were already so tired, but once the experiment started, our focus shifted, and it became an unforgettable and enjoyable moment.

We were also able to finish the task properly and correctly, which made it even more satisfying. How about you guys, have you experienced the same thing? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments. I’d love to read them!
That was all for this blog. Thanks for reading!
