Hello, dear! It’s me again, @rufajane, back with another blog many of you can relate to. For today’s blog, I’ll be introducing to you my small but genuine circle of friends. Back when I was a kid (especially during my elementary days) as far as I can remember, I was not a socially friendly type of person. Well, I can be friendly, but only if you make the first move in approaching me 😅. Perhaps it was because of the introverted side of me. When I reached junior high school (especially in Grade 9), I started learning how to associate myself with others, and in fact, I became involved with a small circle of friends at that time.

I’m the type who values friendship more than most people think. When you want to be my friend, I take it as a genuine offer. I don’t know if that’s a blessing or a curse, because I’ve often been taken for granted because of it. But undeniably, I still find myself drawn to people who value me more than I could ever expect. Fast forward to my senior high school years, I parted ways with my former circle of friends because I took the STEM strand while they took HUMSS, ABM, and TVL. ![Eoke4kevzE2a4o7HMshYGEnYLbWjG4NFKuL5653hHfxhKvXQiaUq1Bt3hapYyN5hr6C.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/rufajane/Eoke4kevzE2a4o7HMshYGEnYLbWjG4NFKuL5653hHfxhKvXQiaUq1Bt3hapYyN5hr6C.png) That meant I had to adjust again to a new environment because most of my classmates weren’t familiar to me and if they were, they weren’t close to me. Having a new circle of friends wasn’t on my list because all I could think of was how I would survive in the strand I chose. Eventually, I found another circle of friends who made me laugh. Still, the introverted side of me remained, so I found it hard to keep myself composed socially. ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/rufajane/EoK5ncke1tVqoMaca2w6B8XRYj7MEADH2QzF9UxhaF9pbnYhs5Z3oAUzbDQZgmGwRYp.png) @miyasomi @saixieh @tvlipz02 Until this school year (I’m in Grade 12), when my circle of friends expanded in ways I never saw coming. I am beyond grateful that I found friends who lift me up and encourage me, especially in times when I don’t feel like going on. They see me for who I am, not because I’m a writer or a speaker, but because I’m me, and that’s what truly matters. And even though we have different personalities, we still manage to make each other laugh and joke around as if we own the whole world. ![Eos1qmjHWazAZVibFN9F78MEegHh4aArc19JuNGDXFKosE86YnZQXvfyqzwUPsxf1pX.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/rufajane/Eos1qmjHWazAZVibFN9F78MEegHh4aArc19JuNGDXFKosE86YnZQXvfyqzwUPsxf1pX.png) To my friends (who also happen to be here on Hive): Thank you for making me laugh and for bringing out my extroverted side. You made me realize how much my presence means to others. The teasing, the jokes, the random updates, and all are what build our friendship even stronger. I know these moments will pass, but the memories you leave behind will remain in my heart. 💛
