Last night, I played Rivermaya’s “214” on YouTube. It’s a classic, and although I’ve heard it many times before, two questions really stood out:
“Am I real?
Do the words I speak before you make you feel
That the love I lay for you will see no ending?”

It really hit different. That questions made me reflect on a lot of unspoken feelings, things I wanted to express but couldn’t put into sentences. And that's when I decided to draw instead.
I didn’t have a clear idea in mind at first. I just let my hand move. I started with soft pencil strokes to shape the face. Then I worked on the eyes. I always believe the eyes carry most of the emotion, so I spent time getting them just right.

Then I moved on to the lips. Actually, I don't really fine the lips that appealing because it's overly red in color hahah but since I wanted her to look like someone who had something to say or someone who's strong enough, I just leave it like that. Her hair came next.
Then the red dress was a last-minute decision, but it felt right. So I used colored pencils to blend different shades of red to give it depth and movement. I also added earrings and a choker to make her feel more complete, like she’s dressed up for something.

Throughout the process, my music playlist kept playing in the background. I feel like this becomes my mood.
By the time I finished, I was happy, though it is not that appealing to see but I've put my creativity for it haha. I am not really artistic but I love drawing when in mood because it gives me satisfaction. I realize that I don't have to talk much in order to be heard because sometimes, art does the talking when we can't.
So that was all for this blog and I hope you appreciated my blog. Thank you Hive community!
