My first big move with life-changing money

Every single day, most of us wake up early, leave our beds and head out into the hustle for one major reason, to make money. Let’s be honest, money controls a lot of things in life. Without it, everything becomes harder, even basic needs like food, shelter, and transportation. Sometimes you ask yourself if all the stress is worth it, but then reality hits you that without money, survival becomes a serious challenge.

So, if I ever reach that point where I finally have the exact amount of money I’ve always dreamed about, I already know what my first big moves will be. The first thing on my list is to build my own house. For me, this is non-negotiable because the cost of rent in Lagos right now is nothing short of crazy. Imagine paying so much for just a three bedroom apartment, and every year the landlord still finds a way to increase rent as if they are doing us a favor. The stress that comes with renewing rent every year is another headache that nobody talks about enough. Owning my own home means peace of mind and freedom from that yearly pressure. No more calls from landlords, no more worrying about deadlines, no more unnecessary drama and landlord palava. Just the joy of having a place I can truly call mine.

After sorting out the house, the next important move for me will be to start my own business. I have always believed that having just a salary is not enough, especially in this economy where prices of goods and services keep increasing almost every week. Depending only on a paycheck is risky because one emergency can wipe out everything you’ve saved. That’s why I want to create something that will give me a steady income.

The business I am looking at is the transportation business because I know a little about it, and I believe it is a strong investment. People will always need to move from one place to another, so the demand for transport will never disappear. Yes, it might require capital and planning, but once it is set up well, it can generate stable cash flow and even create jobs for others. To me, that’s better than relying on just one source of income.

Of course, there are many other things I would love to do. Traveling the world, investing in more businesses, helping my family, and even starting something for the community are all on my list. But I know I can’t do everything at once. For now, my top priorities are clear, build a home and create a business that can sustain me and my future.

The truth is, this is the kind of financial freedom many of us dream about every day. It’s not an easy journey, but when that breakthrough comes, I’m ready for it.
