So I had a crazy thing happen during my walk this evening. I was maybe 1500 @actifit steps away from home when this woman walked up to me, and she asked me to carry her case of beer to her house.
I thought she lived in the nearby apartments, but I ended up walking with her through a large neighborhood of homes to her house.
We walked into her house and she had just had a fire breakout around her fireplace. A part of the ceiling was temporarily patched with sheet rock and the flooring was damaged around the fireplace.
She had no less than 50 empty beer cans on the floor near her couch.
She told me she couldn't pay her home insurance and then she told me that she recently lost her 10 year old daughter to a bad heart valve. She showed me her daughter's photo on the refrigerator.
I didn't know what to say, so I listened to her talk. I told her that the beer wasn't the answer. I tried to walk out twice but she told me she needed to talk.
We shook hands and I walked out of her house. I'm lightly stressed out now, and I'm praying for her
She also told me she recently had an altercation with a female officer and that she wanted to deal with her. I told her to move on, but she was way too drunk to hear me.
I wanted to leave as soon as I dropped the beer off, but she is definitely struggling and I would feel worse than I do now if I had just walked home without listening to her.
I walked the park before walking the big block where I met my new friend.
I thought it was going to rain on me this evening.
Thank you from @runridefly.
