My journey to another country begins at Novosibirsk-Glavny Station—a place where history and architecture merge into one grand picture. This station, opened on January 25, 1939, immediately captured my attention with its majestic style—Stalinist Empire style. It captures the spirit of an era when buildings were built not simply for practical use, but to inspire awe and a sense of eternity. I immediately decided: I needed to photograph, especially those details that convey the character of that time.

Shooting inside turned out to be a real challenge. The light is soft and diffused, almost like in an old theater, and it took some work to get right. But honestly, some of the shots turned out so good, I'm absolutely thrilled! What caught my attention most were the enormous chandeliers—they seemed to float above the hall, reflecting the light in their crystal facets. I captured them from different angles, trying to convey their monumental beauty. These chandeliers are the station's true highlight, a symbol of its grandeur.

Everything here exudes the solidity of Stalinist Empire style: tall columns, wide marble staircases, massive dark wood doors. No plastic, only natural materials—stone, metal, wood. You want to run your hand over the cool marble or carved patterns to feel how it was made to last. Every detail—from the stucco ceiling to the heavy door handles—seems to speak of the 1930s, when the station was just beginning to welcome trains.
Old stations like Novosibirsk-Glavny are more than just buildings to me. They are portals to the past, where the soul of time hides in the sound of footsteps and train horns. Do you like places like this?
