¡¡Hey, qué tal, gente!! Ya llevaba un tiempo queriendo compartir con ustedes en esta comunidad, ya que el anime es unos de mi hobbies preferidos aunque es por temporadas pero igual es algo que me gusta bastante y hasta en cierto punto puedo decir que crecí viendo algunos clásicos, los más queridos y recordados con grandes memorias son Mazinger Z (lo sé, un poco viejo para que alguien de los 2000’s lo haya visto, pero así fue, formó parte de mi infancia) y Naruto, mi favorita si a fin de cuentas vamos.

Hey, what's up, people!!! I've been wanting to share with you in this community for a while now, since anime is one of my favorite hobbies although it's seasonal but it's still something I like a lot and to some extent I can say that I grew up watching some classics, the most loved and remembered with great memories are Mazinger Z (I know, a little old for someone from the 2000's to have seen it, but it was, it was part of my childhood) and Naruto, my favorite if we are going to go all the way.
En esta ocasión, vengo a compartirles mi opinión sobre Lazarus, un anime/serie, que se acaba de estrenar hace en HBO MAX y que a decir verdad, para el estilo que tiene que no es muy de mi gustos, me agradó bastante su primero capitulo y me dejó queriendo saber más sobre esta obra que viene de la mano de Shin'ichirō Watanabe, conocido también por crear Cowboy Bebop y Samurai Champloo.
Primero lo primero y lo primero es saber sobre qué va Lazarus. Este anime nos ubica en el año 2056 en un mundo donde reina una supuesta “paz” debido a que un doctor llamado Skinner desarrollo un tipo de medicamento que cura cualquier tipo de dolor y enfermedad, sin embargo, poco después de la distribución legal del medicamento el Dc. Skinner desaparece. Tres años han pasado y la humanidad su curso con normalidad hasta que el Skinner regresa solo para anunciar que su medicamento tiene un lapso de vida de tres años para todo aquel que lo haya ingerido, causando caos en todas parte por el anuncio de una muerte inminente.
On this occasion, I come to share with you my opinion about Lazarus, an anime/series, which has just premiered on HBO MAX and to tell you the truth, for the style it has, which is not very much to my taste, I liked its first chapter and left me wanting to know more about this work that comes from the hand of Shin'ichirō Watanabe, also known for creating Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo.
First things first, and the first thing is to know what Lazarus is about. This anime places us in the year 2056 in a world where a supposed “peace” reigns because a doctor named Skinner developed a type of medicine that cures any kind of pain and disease, however, shortly after the legal distribution of the drug the Dc. Skinner disappears. Three years have passed and humanity has been going on as normal until Skinner returns only to announce that his drug has a three-year life span for anyone who has ingested it, causing chaos everywhere with the announcement of imminent death.
Para detener esto, un grupo especial de 5 agentes se reúne para dar con el paradero del Dc. Skinner y así poder encontrar una cura antes de que sea demasiado tarde, el nombre del especial “Lazarus”. Así empieza nuestra increíble trama, dando un primer capítulo introductorio a todo el caos que ha causado Skinner y cómo nuestros protagonistas tratan de corregirlo antes de que sea demasiado tarde.
La animación de Lazarus fue una de las cosas que más me gustaron de este primer capítulo, si ya has tenido algo de contacto con otras obras de este de Watanabe quizás no se te haga algo del otro mundo, ya que Cowboy Bebop y Samurai Champloo comparten mucho de este estilo, después de todo sería como la marca personal del director. Movimientos fluidos, con un diseño de personajes que resaltan mucho entre los personajes secundarios o de relleno, y muy distintos entre ellos, protagonistas muy únicos en este grupo, un gran punto a favor, si no te gusta uno te puedes ir por el otro.
To stop this, a special group of 5 agents is assembled to find the whereabouts of Dc. Skinner and thus be able to find a cure before it is too late, the name of the special “Lazarus”. Thus begins our incredible plot, giving a first introductory chapter to all the chaos Skinner has caused and how our protagonists try to correct it before it's too late.
The animation of Lazarus was one of the things I liked the most in this first chapter, if you have already had some contact with other works of Watanabe's, maybe it is not something out of this world, since Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo share much of this style, after all it would be like the director's personal brand. Fluid movements, with a character design that stands out among the secondary or filler characters, and very different between them, very unique protagonists in this group, a big plus, if you do not like one you can go for the other.
Como primer capítulo funciona muy bien, nos da la introducción al problema que nuestros protagonistas tienen que resolver y nos dejan un vistazo a la ciudad que diseñaron para esta historia, que para ser un poco futurista para mí gusto, debo decir que me agradó bastante. El capítulo logra entretenerte de principio a fin y, obviamente, te deja con ganas de más, solo queda esperar al siguiente.
En general, Lazarus, promete mucho, por lo menos para mí, es la primera vez que veo algo de este estilo y del director Watanabe lo cual me tiene un poco a la expectativa con saber cuál es el misterio que se esconde detrás de todo este lío que hizo el Dc. Skinner. Dato importante, el director Chad Stahelski (también conocido por dirigir nada más y nada menos que Jhon Wick) trabajará en este proyecto para dirigir las coreografías en la escenas de acción, lo que traducido es, va a estar más que increíble en este aspecto.
As a first chapter it works very well, it gives us the introduction to the problem that our protagonists have to solve and we get a glimpse of the city they designed for this story, which for being a bit futuristic for my taste, I must say that I liked it a lot. The chapter manages to entertain you from beginning to end and, obviously, leaves you wanting more, you just have to wait for the next one.
In general, Lazarus, promises a lot, at least for me, it's the first time I see something of this style and director Watanabe which has me a little expectant to know what is the mystery behind all this mess that made the Dc. Skinner. Important fact, director Chad Stahelski (also known for directing none other than John Wick) will be working on this project to direct the choreography in the action scenes, which translates to, he's going to be more than amazing in this aspect.
Pero bueno, esa fue mi opinión con respecto a este primer capítulo de un anime que promete bastante a decir verdad, les compartiré mi opinión al respecto de la obra cuando termine de transmitirse para qué tanto cambiará mi opinión al respecto o iré subiendo reseñas cada cierta cantidad de capítulos, luego veremos, hasta una próxima oportunidad, gente : )
