A tour of the Historic Center and San Francisco Street (Eng/Esp)

Sucre Street is one of the most emblematic areas of the city, as it connects immediately with the Historic Center, from the Plaza San Francisco to the headquarters of the State Government, we find emblematic places such as the birthplace of José Antonio Ramos Sucre, the Santa Inés church, Fundadanza, Imatur, the Astoria pizzeria, among others. Walking around here always offers a different perspective, even the sunsets are usually stunning when viewed from the steps of the church.  Also from this street you have access to the Castillo San Antonio de la Eminencia through an entrance that is not very crowded because it is a long staircase. To walk through San Francisco is to remain in a past that looks lethargic, the colonial facades are still standing, however, are discolored due to the weather.  Ascending you arrive at a bifurcation, a road that communicates with the Bajo Seco neighborhood and the other with the Miramar sector, being this last one the most interesting because it surrounds the castle until arriving at its main entrance and in addition you can find the José Antonio Ramos Sucre high school, the General Cemetery and the Judicial Internship of Cumaná.  Walking is always relaxing, and visiting different places connects you with the culture and history of the city. Seeing the landscape from a different perspective allows you to find little-appreciated corners.

La calle Sucre es una de las zonas más emblemáticas de la ciudad, pues conecta de forma inmediata con el Casco Histórico, desde la Plaza San Francisco hasta la sede de la Gobernación del estado, nos encontramos con lugares emblemáticos como la casa natal de José Antonio Ramos Sucre, la iglesia Santa Inés, Fundadanza, Imatur, la pizzería Astoria, entre otros. Caminar por acá siempre ofrece una perspectiva distinta, hasta los atardeceres suelen ser impactantes cuando se observan desde las escalinatas de la iglesia.  También partiendo de esta calle se tiene acceso al Castillo San Antonio de la Eminencia a través de una entrada que no es muy concurrida porque se trata de una larga escalera. Transitar por San Francisco es permanecer en un pasado que luce aletargado, las fachadas coloniales siguen en pie, sin embargo, están descoloridas debido a la interperie.  Ascendiendo se llega a una bifurcación, una vía que comunica con el barrio Bajo Seco y la otra con el sector Miramar, siendo esta última la más interesante porque rodea el castillo hasta llegar a su entrada principal y además se puede hallar al liceo José Antonio Ramos Sucre, el Cementerio General y el Internado Judicial de Cumaná.  Caminar siempre resulta relajante, además recorrer lugares diferentes logra conectarte con la cultura y la historia de la ciudad. Ver con otra mirada el paisaje permite encontrar rincones poco apreciados.
