Hello Beautiful People! Last time I shared our Tulang Diot Island adventure. CAMOTES ISLAND ADVENTURE: TULANG DIOT

Today we are going to explore more of Camotes caves.

Do you know that this island has more than 5 caves? Yes, you heard it right. According to the locals here, some of the caves have not yet been opened to the public. Unlike other caves in some parts of the Philippines, caves on this island have a natural swimming pool that tourists can enjoy. I have been to this island three times already so let me share with you my favorite caves that we have visited. Let's tour around the famous caves on this island. ## BUKILAT CAVE This cave is the farthest cave on this island that we have visited so far.
Located in Tudela of Camotes Island, it is considered the largest cave in Camotes. The water level depends on the time whether it's low tide or high tide because it is connected to the ocean. According to the locals, this was the shelter of many residents here to hide from the Japanese army during world war II. Around the cave, you'll see some stalagmites and stalactites that made the place more inviting. ![IMG_20190316_113528.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/Ep1WueaVqnPR8WpJ78JuDYVEk3YuLNbnRvc2YSvGuDxo2QD6kdXzCN51DxpgXt6Kji7.jpg) ![IMG_20190316_112111.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/23vsZ4XG7kxa5c6KL9PNeviha45eD5mXwNwo34PahzQUR8CuuQ17xxpLcqGGVnbgJn7q3.jpg) There are holes that you can see when you look up and these provide the natural lighting inside the cave. There are some bats living in the cave as well. ![IMG_20190316_111346.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/23tbEaoy1KDL54eSBwToYiVsFeFKjDoKstT7cV4LHnHNevaoiHqpeGDTnab6M92z1vrUA.jpg) ![IMG_20190316_111622.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/243qD4SMBpapwm5L2oCzoh83hrRUoE9PaHWahB2L57vJNcgptxqqkDuQJjN6eJVvVqtYZ.jpg) ![IMG_20190316_113252.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/23vsJAMbgpYQQSoityGEAz4o5yK9W4YgChcD4USceCVkPoekjbQLijkj6ZNtEN4zXSJ2X.jpg) ![IMG_20190316_112724.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/23wzxsRPxpZAJKw4btzVpBGr9kuj6NMQD11oZDB9MbZaaTsXE3ownDPY3qUDo3j9SqHiR.jpg) ![IMG_20190316_112210.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/23yd3v4sVKLZQA6RaSGxoSqpMmenGEjaRHKYsedAFuz7RTRD1NUfYWPBoB5R63b5jCL77.jpg) ## PARAISO CAVE
Paraiso cave is located in San Francisco Camotes Island. The entrance fee is 100 pesos and the life jacket rental is 10 pesos. The word "Paraiso" means paradise in English. As you enter the place, you'll see some cottages and beautiful gardens with flowering and non-flowering plants but when you totally get inside the area, you'll see a hole, and there you have to descend the stairs and at the bottom, you'll see a natural pool. We were so amazed by the crystal clear water and thought it was so shallow but when we jumped into the water, it was so deep. I think this cave has the most transparent water of all caves we have visited. The staff was also friendly and approachable she even accompanied us inside the cave. ![IMG_20220610_123251.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/EowFgh7Zo7mkLJyTSyGkrWnwAaogRwC4NvqJcZWoT11Z76a1kprS4CHn8mGfBBC4N3J.jpg) ![IMG_20220610_123213.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/EpCATdGatzcniQ4t2MTHLXkqBAqJpFvgchkv8uGrGcYRXhGaEJWJgBvVs2zX4gX9PES.jpg)

## AMAZING ISLAND CAVE This place is located in Poro, Camotes Island. The entrance fee here is 100 pesos and the life jacket is already included. The depth of the water in the cave when we went there was about 7-8 feet so it was high tide. The hard part for us was the narrow way going inside and the depth of the water but when we got to the most significant part of the cave, we enjoyed swimming. There is always a lifeguard present to keep the tourists safe. This place is not safe for kids and for claustrophobic people. ![IMG_20190317_110435.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/23wX5UwEYR6sNY7v8KySsvDjbczcK9FDkdyxQ6ePntE4jyQU2egVsfdHmaoGhHkg5uFbz.jpg) ![IMG_20190317_110448.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/23uFY5AF5E7kgHHP7zyYtSCjNMnoM2Wfw8bSsm7nZPvXF4L5Z7bpxCoBYN7FTiM9comvf.jpg) ![IMG_20220610_121107.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/EoGxrqbf9PiexeEhEw3X1uhixDVxxt53PBYBBy3JXDaFfg343Rqb94xBRhX2CVGSpqe.jpg) ## HEAVEN CAVE Heaven cave is a small cave with a lot of surprises inside. Same us other caves, you can also enjoy swimming here. Since the cave is quite small, the owner limits the capacity of the cave to 25 persons for 30 minutes. However, if there are a few tourists inside the cave, you can stay for a long time. ![IMG_20220611_152239.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/23w2af3xBCWQ3WaLXkHVsf68ovYHJBS4ysdDW76yjHiosEhsGwPQeuvPy888BwKSfkJWv.jpg) ![IMG20220611152545.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/23wMVzwcb9tYcuCWT7oFMxX6sUWNYpAPB5UGJTYR8zSiHyP2G9ZPioVRkmjfD6AbC4eTf.jpg) The tourist guide who's the grandchild of the owner told us that they are still working on the extension of the cave wherein they still need to get some rocks from the area. ![IMG20220611153055.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/23x12W1fXKBja5483WuMdYVzrhdYkFnHJLqgKdDAWGQsbiPzGS13uym5a1V1DTZtbo9q8.jpg) ![IMG20220611153159.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/23wqgaDKy2RS7NzQfHdn2oZBSdmLtMCeQYsAb8wG3VYzmhdkgQ6ak5VJxmv2ArkGFKzJw.jpg) What I love about this cave is the heart-shaped and the formation of stalactite and stalagmite. The heart-shaped formation is really like a human heart and it was shining with small crystals around it. ![Screenshot_20220702_191936.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/Ep5kgdHmvNaNf3UCi3WziE7xAHSFaxSH1aDfbzYdX2F1DGhaSozDnB4biS1qGxmVQ4A.jpg) ## TIMUBO CAVE Timubo Cave is located in San Francisco, Camotes Island. We couldn't easily see the cave when we arrived at the place because it is almost like a hole in the ground. The opening is just more than enough for humans to enter into. There are stairs and lights going inside the cave. As you reach the lowest level of the cave, you have to cross a small opening with shallow water before you reach to the main natural pool where you can enjoy swimming. You'll see a grotto and offer a prayer before swimming. ![IMG_20190316_155002.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/242XvokYf4Hun2dizgta9g9sNCL4am1oSHErRAyxceiyedUB3iWyVhEzfEvhr8sbapwAU.jpg) ![IMG_20190316_155336.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/23rB9sS93jAbxiZNckgVLb132Ybtv4iw52QeCkrrVhnYHwcFx1sN7BgcnJ5mWNnhnQoHa.jpg) ![IMG_20190316_155517.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/23wBgGnaGM5kXHdMdqkECSgt4X3Epzx1G5KGiKY3Ek1Usqrh34MHfDgGHnwAvKJH451YX.jpg) ![IMG_20220611_141015.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/23vhsCtXbqda6449SxhFqkosn2rTyzpLefKs2L2Y45xf8h3hzEwrxpUvSNAeSEv6NYFnu.jpg) ![IMG_20220611_140550.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sabukidblog/Eoc6UabHL2bmyx7j11zs9FQM6cht3eQCFa3yz6fH87vcSkb1cob9cmiPBzrnusAxqt4.jpg) Overall, I can say that Camotes Island is truly a wonderful place to visit if you want to explore the natural wonders of the world in one place. ## TRAVEL TIPS: - *Bring extra clothes* - *Secure your cellphone in a waterproof case* - *Wear aqua shoes* - *Go there on the weekdays to avoid crowd* -----
