Saludos a toda la comunidad de Full Deportes, regresando nuevamente al feed de la comunidad, les traigo un tema sobre un deporte del cual se habla bien poco en varias de las entregas de los escritores que cada día aparecen en mi página principal. Y no es que sea poco visto, sino que no tiene el seguimiento que se merece, me refiero al Voleibol de Playa, una disciplina olímpica que no tiene la visibilidad que tienen otros deportes, como el fútbol, el beisbol, el voleibol de sala.
En esto he aprendido muchísimo del amigo argentino @hosgug, ya que el hombre se esmera y busca contenido de los deportes a motor, que acá en Cuba son muy seguidos y en sus últimas dos entregas, el golf. Por cierto, recomiendo a esos que no han visto los posts de Héctor, deberían llegarse a su biografía y ver el alto nivel de su contenido de trabajo.

Sin más preámbulo, aquí les traigo mi entrega de esta jornada, y es que una noticia merodea mi mundo en las últimas horas. La dupla cubana de voleibol playero, conformada por los olímpicos Noslen Díaz y Jorge Luis Alayo, vencieron este sábado a la dupla #1 del mundo, los noruegos Mol y Sorum.
A pesar de que es un torneo del Tour Mundial, específicamente el Élite 16 de Rio de Janeiro, vencer a los mejores del mundo es un mérito mayúsculo. Los cubanos vencieron en 3 peleados parciales a los noruegos con tanteadores de 21-23, 21-17 y 15-5 para certificar su triunfo frente a la mejor pareja del mundo. Este resultado, es el fruto de meses de esfuerzo y competencias, especialmente dentro del circuito de Rusia.

La mejor decisión que tomó la federación de este deporte, fue foguear de esta manera a los deportistas antillanos. Los resultados se está plasmando en la arena, y no precisamente por la derrota, sino por la gran calidad y experiencia competitiva que han adquirido estos muchachos. No cabe duda que Noslen y Alayo, ya con 5 años compitiendo, al más alto nivel, están hechos para empeños mayores, y espero que en el próximo campeonato mundial puedan llegar lejos.
Me queda aún la incertidumbre si podrán estar en los Juegos Olímpicos, ya que se realizarán en Estados Unidos, y de momento, tras la negación de visas a otros deportistas previamente, será muy difícil que los cubanos puedan participar en la justa bajo los 5 aros. Sin embargo, esto no es motivo para rendirse o tirar las armas, ya que nuestros atletas son optimistas en que podrán participar.

Finalmente, nuestra dupla de voli de playa, disputará las semifinales del torneo frente a la siempre difícil dupla de Países Bajos, a las 9 de la mañana, hora de Cuba. Quizás a la hora de la redacción de este post, ya los cubanos se estén enfrentando a los europeos, en un partido que anticipo debe ser de altos kilates.
Considero que los cubanos, aún no han tocado el techo, ya que es bien alto y espero que lleguen ahí, aunque batirse con los mejores del mundo, ya les da un espíritu y un aura bastante positiva. Les deseo muchos éxitos a esos chicos que se lanzan de cabeza en cada pelota para que no caiga a la arena, esa misma arena que ahora mismo brilla porque sobre sus granitos reposan las almas de miles de cubanos apoyando a nuestra dupla de playa.

Greetings to the entire Full Deportes community! Returning once again to the community feed, I bring you a topic about a sport that is rarely discussed in many of the contributions from writers who appear on my main page every day. It’s not that it’s not popular; rather, it doesn’t receive the attention it deserves. I’m referring to Beach Volleyball, an Olympic discipline that lacks the visibility of other sports like soccer, baseball, and indoor volleyball. I have learned a lot from my Argentine friend @hosgug, as he diligently seeks out content on motor sports, which are very popular here in Cuba, as well as golf in his last two posts. By the way, I recommend those who haven’t seen Héctor’s posts to check out his biography and see the high level of his work.
Without further ado, here’s my contribution for today. A piece of news has been circulating in my world over the last few hours. The Cuban beach volleyball duo, composed of Olympians Noslen Díaz and Jorge Luis Alayo, defeated the world’s #1 duo, the Norwegians Mol and Sorum, this Saturday. Even though it’s a tournament on the World Tour, specifically the Elite 16 in Rio de Janeiro, defeating the best in the world is a significant achievement. The Cubans won in three closely contested sets against the Norwegians with scores of 21-23, 21-17, and 15-5 to secure their victory against the best pair in the world.
This result is the fruit of months of effort and competition, especially within the Russian circuit. The best decision made by the federation of this sport was to prepare these athletes in this way. The results are being reflected in the sand—not due to defeat but because of the great quality and competitive experience that these young men have acquired. There’s no doubt that Noslen and Alayo, having competed at the highest level for five years, are ready for greater challenges, and I hope they can go far in the upcoming World Championship.
I still have uncertainty about whether they will be able to participate in the Olympic Games since they will be held in the United States, and for now, after visa denials to other athletes previously, it will be very difficult for Cubans to participate in the event under the five rings. However, this is not a reason to give up or throw in the towel, as our athletes are optimistic about their chances of participating.
Finally, our beach volleyball duo will compete in the semifinals of the tournament against the always tough duo from the Netherlands at 9 AM Cuban time. Perhaps by the time I am writing this post, the Cubans are already facing off against the Europeans in a match that I anticipate will be of high caliber. I believe that the Cubans have not yet reached their peak, as it is quite high, and I hope they get there. Competing against the best in the world already gives them a positive spirit and aura. I wish much success to those guys who dive headfirst for every ball so it doesn’t hit the sand—this very sand that shines right now because its grains hold the souls of thousands of Cubans supporting our beach duo.
