Saludos a toda la comunidad de Full Deportes, este jueves concluyeron los partidos correspondientes a los Wild Card en la Liga Nacional y la Liga Americana y ya quedaron oficialmente confirmados los enfrentamientos que se comenzarán a disputar a partir del venidero sábado en las Series Divisionales.
**¿Qué me dejó de interesante estos Wild Card?**
Solo hubo una barrida, justificada, por así decirlo, ya que Dodgers tiene mejor equipo por mucho que los Rojos de Cincinnati, sin menospreciar a los que visten con el color de la sangre. Las otras si fueron bastante cerradas, sobre todo esa de Yankees frente a Medias Rojas, que es todo un Clásico dentro del Este de la Americana.

Me decepcionaron los Padres, no con el objetivo de restarle mérito a los Cachorros, sino que uno mira el roster completo de la franquicia de los monaguillos, y se pregunta, cómo estos chicos no pudieron clasificar. Sencillamente, la humildad de los Cachorros los envió a casa rápidamente.
Por último quería dejar un espacio para hablar de los Tigres. Es verdad que tuvieron su bajón a final de temporada, unido a la escalada potente de los Guardianes de Cleveland, sin embargo cuando tú equipo tiene una carta de triunfo segura, es muy difícil perder y ya eso te da un juego de ventaja.
**Yankees vs Azulejos. El histórico frente a la sensación**
Hay equipos cuyo uniforme trae el peso de una historia llena de éxitos, fracasos, pero sobre todo la exigencia de una afición que solo pide títulos. Esa es la jerarquía que han impuesto los Yankees a lo largo de los años, aunque lleven varias temporadas sin levantar el trofeo de la Serie Mundial.

Esta serie frente a Azulejos será un duelo muy parejo, ya que ambos tienen un núcleo sólido de bateadores, y ambos cuerpos de pitcheo son de lo más completo que hay en la Liga Americana. Esta serie se debe ir a 7 partidos, aunque si todo sale a la perfección para uno u otro bando, puede que termine por 4-1 o 4-2 favorable a cualquiera de los dos, no me atrevo a dar ningún favorito.
Ese primer juego debe ser una auténtica locura desde el Rogers Centre, y los abridores deben ser Max Fried y Kevin Gaussman, dos caras bien conocidas y con tremendo historial en la Gran Carpa. Esta serie promete ser bastante pareja, quizás en el terreno se demuestre lo contrario porque en el béisbol nada está escrito, pero estoy muy seguro que seremos testigos de algo sencillamente maravilloso.
**Tigres vs Marineros. La mejor ofensiva contra el mejor pitcheo**
El sábado seremos testigos desde el T-Mobile Park, de una serie que enfrentará a dos candidatos serios al Cy Young, además de dos ofensivas con peculiaridades totalmente diferentes. Los Marineros tuvieron una campaña en donde hubo records de todo tipo entre sus bateadores, que traen una mezcla de velocidad y poder.

Punto y aparte para el "Big Dumper" Cal Raleigh, que se convirtió en el primer receptor y bateador ambidiestro en pegar 60 jonrones en una temporada, dejando atrás el record de la franquicia que poseía Ken Griffey Jr. Me quedan dudas de cómo pueden utilizar el pitcheo ambos conjuntos, ya que no tienen esa profundidad en cuanto a abridores se refiere, aunque hay que decir que el bullpen de Seattle tiene muchísimas garantías.
Por rotación, Skubal debe lanzar 3 partidos, ya que es el primer abridor de los Tigres, que esto además le permitirá lanzar en dos partidos más. Esta serie si va a terminar en 7 pleitos, y yo me decanto por un 4-3 a favor de Marineros, y las 3 victorias de Tigres serían de Skubal. Esperemos que pueda suceder en el terreno, pero lo que si es muy cierto es que ambos tienen equipos bastante interesantes para competir.
**Cachorros vs Cerveceros. Dos candidatos a MVP frente a frente**
Los dos mejores equipos de la Central en la Nacional se enfrentan cara a cara. Será una serie que yo le llamaría un marco estrecho, entre dos clubes que se juegan el todo por el todo. Solo 90 millas separan un estadio del otro, por lo que la rivalidad crece de una manera extraordinaria. Por ambos lados hay un posible MVP (aunque todos sabemos que se lo llevará Ohtani), dos bateadores cuyo tacto, poder y velocidad los convierte en dos de los peloteros más completos dentro de las Grandes Ligas.

Me refiero a Pete Crow-Amstrong y Christian Yelich, zurdos además. Los Cerveceros cuentan además con el novato Misiorowski, cuyas bolas rápidas no bajan de las 100 millas por hora, aunque creo que sería un error ponerlo de primer abridor en una postemporada, ya que tendría un peso grandísimo y esto puede provocar nerviosismo en un chico tan joven y sin rodaje en instancias definitorias. Mi pronóstico es un 4-2 a favor de Milwaukee, aunque reitero, no se debe infravalorar a los Cachorros.
**Phillies vs Dodgers. Dos trenes chocan nuevamente.**
La serie que todos esperan, los partidos más parejos, los mejores peloteros, se miden este sábado desde el Citiziens Bank Park en Filadelfia. En ambos conjuntos hay un ganador de Novato del Año y MVP. Dos bates poderosos con hambre de dar jonrones. Respaldados por una selección de bateadores que sin hacer mucho ruido cumplen las exigencias a las mil maravillas.
Por supuesto las miradas estarán puestas en Bryce Harper y Shohei Ohtani. Pero mucho ojo con bateadores de la calidad de Kyle Schwarber, Trea Turner, Freddie Freeman o Teoscar Hernández por ambos conjuntos. Veo muy positivo también el imponente cierre de temporada que tuvo Aaron Nola, que debe ser el abridor del primer día por los Phillies, en un duelo que se antoja para chuparse los dedos con Blake Snell.

Veo ligeramente favoritos a los Dodgers, por su condición de campeones defensores, y además por mantener aún ese núcleo de peloteros que levantaron el banderín la temporada pasada. Enfatizar que el bullpen de los Dodgers es su punto más bajo, por lo que de ser aprovechado esto por los Phillies, pudiera dar un giro inesperado dentro de la Serie.
**Cubanos que estarán presente en estás series divisionales.**
No puede haber postemporada sin la presencia de al menos un pelotero cubano dentro del roster de las franquicias para luchar por el título de la Serie Mundial. De hecho siempre deseo que un pelotero de mi tierra levante la bandera cubana cuando es campeón de tan importante evento. Por Toronto nos estará representando Yariel Rodríguez, que esta temporada enfrentó varias veces a los mulos del Bronx, incluida una salida como relevista en donde ponchó a Jazz Chissholm Jr y Aaron Judge en la misma entrada.

Los Marineros contarán con un tipo que sabe jugar estas partidas y tiene la sangre de mi tierra, Randy Arozarena, el conocido como Mr. October cubano posee aún el record de jonrones para un novato en una sola postemporada. Los Tigres también tienen un cubano en sus filas, aunque sin tantos reflectores ya que no es usado con mucha frecuencia, hablo de Andy Ibañez. Veremos si el manager AJ Hinch le da la oportunidad de ser protagonista en la Serie Divisional frente a los Marineros.
Por último los Dodgers cuentan con el cubano de mejor desempeño entre jugadores nacidos en la gran isla del Caribe a lo largo de la temporada. Andy Pagés dejó números que pasarán a la historia dentro de los peloteros que pisaron un terreno de pelota en territorio de Estados Unidos. Para que vean la gran medida de su rendimiento, solamente Ohtani tuvo mejores números que el cubano en cuanto a estadísticas fundamentales como los jonrones y las carreras producidas, algo sencillamente hermoso y orgulloso para los cubanos que amamos este deporte.

Divisional Series on the Horizon. Opinion.
Greetings to the entire Full Deportes community. This Thursday, the Wild Card games in the National League and American League concluded, and the matchups for the upcoming Divisional Series, starting this Saturday, have been officially confirmed.
What did I find interesting about these Wild Cards?
There was only one sweep, which was justified, as the Dodgers have a much better team than the Cincinnati Reds, without underestimating those who wear the color of blood. The others were quite close, especially the Yankees against the Red Sox, which is a classic in the American East. I was disappointed with the Padres, not to take away credit from the Cubs, but when you look at the complete roster of the Padres, you wonder how these guys couldn’t make the playoffs.
Simply put, the humility of the Cubs sent them home quickly. Lastly, I wanted to take a moment to talk about the Tigers. It’s true that they had a slump at the end of the season, coupled with the strong surge of the Cleveland Guardians; however, when your team has a sure ace up its sleeve, it’s very hard to lose, and that already gives you a game advantage.
Yankees vs. Blue Jays: The Historic Team vs. The Sensation
There are teams whose uniforms carry the weight of a history filled with successes, failures, but above all, the demands of a fanbase that only asks for titles. That is the hierarchy that the Yankees have imposed over the years, even though they have gone several seasons without lifting the World Series trophy. This series against the Blue Jays will be a very close matchup, as both teams have a solid core of hitters, and both pitching staffs are among the most complete in the American League.
This series should go to seven games, although if everything goes perfectly for one side or the other, it could end up 4-1 or 4-2 in favor of either team; I wouldn't dare pick a favorite. That first game should be pure madness from Rogers Centre, with Max Fried and Kevin Gausman as the starters—two well-known faces with tremendous histories in Major League Baseball. This series promises to be quite competitive; perhaps on the field, it will prove otherwise because in baseball, nothing is written, but I am very sure we will witness something simply wonderful.
Tigers vs. Mariners: The Best Offense Against The Best Pitching
On Saturday, we will witness from T-Mobile Park a series that will feature two serious Cy Young candidates, as well as two offenses with completely different characteristics. The Mariners had a season where records of all kinds were set among their hitters, who bring a mix of speed and power.
A special mention goes to "Big Dumper" Cal Raleigh, who became the first catcher and switch-hitter to hit 60 home runs in a season, surpassing the franchise record previously held by Ken Griffey Jr. I have doubts about how both teams can utilize their pitching since they lack depth in terms of starters; however, it must be said that Seattle's bullpen has a lot of guarantees.

Cubs vs. Brewers: Two MVP Candidates Face to Face
The two best teams in the Central Division of the National League face off against each other. It will be a series that I would call a tight framework, between two clubs that are playing for everything. Only 90 miles separate one stadium from the other, so the rivalry grows in an extraordinary way. On both sides, there is a potential MVP (although we all know it will go to Ohtani), two hitters whose touch, power, and speed make them two of the most complete players in Major League Baseball. I am referring to Pete Crow-Armstrong and Christian Yelich, both left-handed.
The Brewers also have rookie Misiorowski, whose fastballs do not drop below 100 miles per hour; however, I believe it would be a mistake to start him as the first pitcher in the postseason, as it would place a huge burden on such a young player with no experience in decisive moments, which could lead to nervousness. My prediction is a 4-2 victory for Milwaukee, although I reiterate, the Cubs should not be underestimated.
Phillies vs. Dodgers: Two Trains Collide Again
The series that everyone is waiting for, the closest matchups, the best players, will take place this Saturday at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. Both teams feature a Rookie of the Year and an MVP. Two powerful bats hungry for home runs, backed by a lineup of hitters who, without making much noise, meet the demands beautifully. Of course, all eyes will be on Bryce Harper and Shohei Ohtani.
But keep an eye on hitters of the caliber of Kyle Schwarber, Trea Turner, Freddie Freeman, and Teoscar Hernández from both teams. I also see the impressive finish to the season by Aaron Nola as a positive factor; he should be the Game 1 starter for the Phillies in a matchup that promises to be mouthwatering against Blake Snell.
I see the Dodgers as slight favorites due to their status as defending champions and for still having that core group of players who raised the banner last season. It’s worth emphasizing that the Dodgers' bullpen is their weakest point, so if the Phillies can take advantage of this, it could lead to an unexpected twist in the series.
Cubans Present in These Division Series
There can't be a postseason without at least one Cuban player on the rosters of the franchises competing for the World Series title. In fact, I always hope that a player from my homeland raises the Cuban flag when they win such an important event. Representing Toronto will be Yariel Rodríguez, who faced the Yankees several times this season, including a relief outing where he struck out Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Aaron Judge in the same inning.
The Mariners will have a player who knows how to play in these games and has the blood of my homeland, Randy Arozarena, known as Mr. October; he still holds the record for home runs by a rookie in a single postseason. The Tigers also have a Cuban in their ranks, although without much spotlight since he isn’t used frequently; I’m talking about Andy Ibañez. We’ll see if manager AJ Hinch gives him the opportunity to be a protagonist in the Division Series against the Mariners.
Lastly, the Dodgers have the best-performing Cuban among players born on the great island of the Caribbean throughout the season. Andy Pagés put up numbers that will go down in history among players who have stepped onto a baseball field in U.S. territory. To show you how impressive his performance was, only Ohtani had better numbers than the Cuban in fundamental statistics such as home runs and RBIs—something simply beautiful and proud for Cubans who love this sport.
