🧰 Distriator dApp – Development Updates

For those who missed earlier posts, Distriator is a Hive-powered cashback dApp that rewards users for spending Hive Backed Dollars (HBD) at businesses listed on distriator.com. Any trusted guide can onboard a new business 🏢 — this means every Hive user can be part of the expansion!

Now, let’s talk about the latest dev tweaks & bug squashing! 🐞

🛠️ Current Status

The older Flutter web app is still running live, but the new shiny ReactJS version is already deployed at cashback.distriator.com. 🎉

However… testing revealed a sneaky issue in the business onboarding flow 😅 and guess what — the Google APIs had stopped playing nice.
After paying the Maps API bills (yes, out of my pocket 👀), I also adjusted API restrictions and implemented missing endpoints to fetch business details, photos, work hours, and more from Google Maps.

So now, when you zoom in and search a business name (say “Wadewale”), the app smartly fetches nearby businesses with all relevant details — making onboarding super smooth! 🗺️✨

🤔 What If the Business Doesn’t Exist on Google Maps?

No worries, fam! 💪
Just zoom in, search for any nearby business, autofill details, and then customize everything — name, category, images, and coordinates.
Basically, you stay in full control. 🧭

🏗️ Onboarding Steps

Step 1 – Business Basic Info

Upload business images, set display name & select the business type. Easy-peasy! 📸🏪

Step 2 – Business Description

Add a catchy description & set working hours 🕐 — let users know when you're open for Hive-powered shopping!

Step 3 – Address Details

Address autofills from Google Maps, but you can review and update it before moving ahead! 🗺️✏️

Step 4 – Contact Info

Add phone numbers, emails, websites, and social handles (Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram) 📞🌐
