n the shadowed hollows of the Driftless, where ancient bluffs cast eternal darkness, entities from the Shrouded Expanse manifest throughout the turning year, their numbers swelling as All Hallows' Eve approaches. Like smoke through gossamer curtains, they seep into our reality, their forms as varied as the cosmic horror they represent.
Some emerge as writhing masses of tentacles and shadow, harboring malevolent intent toward all they encounter. Others, bearing crystalline forms that catch ethereal light, remain indifferent to human presence, pursuing unknowable purposes in their brief visitations to our realm.
Yet others, cloaked in shapes that defy mortal comprehension, display an unsettling benevolence - their attempts at communion with humanity leaving blessed madness in their wake.
In abandoned barns where moonlight fears to tread, beneath centuries-old bridges where water whispers cosmic secrets, and in the depths of limestone caves that reach toward hell itself, these manifestations continue their eternal parade, reaching a fevered crescendo as October wanes. The Driftless bears silent witness to their comings and goings, each shadow potentially concealing horrors or wonders from beyond the veil of sanity.
Those who dwell in these lands learn to avert their eyes from certain dark corners, knowing that some mysteries of the Shrouded Expanse are best left unexplored.
--So what is the all about? It's a new project I've been using AI tools to generate a mythos, Lovecraftian in inspiration, about cosmic entities in the Driftless Region. It's honestly one of the reasons I've been missing from Hive and Splinterlands...but I will get back to it. I am using a combination of Midjourney, Luma Dreams, and even Chat to help proof read some scripts. I'm not sure where it will go, but it's been fun to develop.
