Recipe for a Healthier Version of Chewy and Cheesy Sweet Delicacy Called “Buchi”

Hello again my dear friends of this community. I’m here with another food recipe to share. This sweet delicacy was called “Buchi” here in our place. I made it the healthier version because instead of frying it, I cooked it using water. But this snack was really cooked by deep frying it, but I don’t want to use a lot of oil plus cooking this using water is much healthier. So join me again as I cooked this snack recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 200 g glutinous flour

  • 20 g white sugar

  • Toasted sesame seeds

  • Cheese

  • Water

In a pan I toast first the sesame seeds until it becomes golden brown, just cooked it in a low setting of fire then continuous stirring to cooked it without burning the sesame seeds. Set aside when the color is golden brown.

In a bowl, mix the glutinous flour and white sugar. Gradually add the water until it becomes clay in texture, I also added ½ tsp. of oil on the mixture to avoid cracking when cooked in a boiling water. Let the dough mixture rest for about 5 minutes.

Cut the cheese into cubes for filling.

Now we are ready to make our “buchi’s”. get 1 tablesppon of the mixture then flatten and put the cheese the form it into a circle. Repeat the process. Look how shiny the balls are.

Ina casserole put water enough to cook the “Buchi”. Make sure the “buchi’s” are fully submerged and placed it when the water is already boiling. Then wait until it floats and when the “buchi’s” float cooked for another 2 minutes so that it will be cooked on the inside.

Then put it immediately in the toasted sesame seeds and roll it.

Then we have it, a healthier version of cheesy and chewy “Buchi” that I made for our snack today.
