Hello Hivers of this community! How are you all doing today? I’m happy to share with you an easy recipe of squid today.

Calamares was a well-known street food here in our country. It was an easy yet delicious dish that you can make just inside your kitchen because you will only be needing few ingredients to make this dish. Calamares can be serve at any time of the day, and I choose to serve it for our dinner. So, join me as I share the process on cooking this one.

First, I clean the squid, removing all the intestines and its ink inside then the top part on its head. After washing it thoroughly, I slice the squid into strips.

Squids can be cooked to many dishes like “adobo” or “dinuguan”. It’s also one of the foods that we sell here in our place, so I think every week we tend to eat a squid, haha.

For the ingredients needed for coating the squids, I only needed 3 ingredients which are flour, pepper and this crispy fry.

Mix the crispy fry, half-cup of flour and 1 tbsp. of pepper in a bowl.

I also get some 2 tbps. on the mixture and put it on the chopped squids then mix.

Now it ready for frying, I dunk the squids on the mixture by batch and also when frying the squids. Then repeat the process until you fry all the squids.

I also put some tissue on the plate so that it will absorb the excess oil for the calamares.

Also, on cooking the squid the oil must be very hot and just cook each batch approximately 2 minutes, because if you cook it longer the squids will tend to become hard. So just cook it less than 2 minutes to achieve a crispy and chewy in the inside texture.

Then we have it, my very own Calamares. You can dip in a sauce like vinegar with some onions.

That’s all my dear hivers of this community who loves to share their food recipe. Till’ next blog 😊.

Sincerely, @saijan19
