The update on 09/30 had some crazy new features. Like burning Foundation cards to increase entries or something like that.
This is pretty amazing, right? Basically, card values just keep going down. For example, in Frontier Mode where cards drop from treasure chests, the total number of cards printed keeps increasing, causing prices to fall, right?
After Splinterlands hit its peak, everyone knows Chaos Legion was printed in such huge quantities that prices have now crashed and it's ridiculously cheap, right?
I thought Frontier was beginner-friendly, so I figured they'd tolerate price drops, but this is quite a change—good or bad?
I cannot judge the merits and demerits of this update, so I will keep an eye on it going forward.
Burning Foundation cards increases the number of entries for Frontier Drows, right?
In other words, if players targeting BlackFoi l or Arcane cards start buying in bulk by burning large quantities of cards...?
I knew it. I feel like it's gone up about twice as much. Even Legendary cards have a low minimum price, after all. They drop in campaign mode too.
I also checked the Gold Foil cards I'd been tracking for price changes, and sure enough, they've gone up. That said, since they were cheap to begin with, the increase is only about 100 to 200 DEC.
I checked the daily and got a Gold Foil, which was nice, but it's a Common so the selling price was under 100 DEC. Since the price had dropped that much, I figured I might as well keep it for myself. That's the card I ended up holding onto.
I'm the type who sells Foundation cards when Gold Foil versions come out (though I absolutely love GF in Modern), so I'm thrilled to see prices go up. I think it's totally fine to sell Gold Foil commons or rares and use the money to buy normal epics or legendary cards instead.
In other words, if the floor price goes up, it'll be easier to buy replacements, which is great! But unfortunately, if Epic and Legendary cards also go up in price, they won't become any easier to buy.
From a supply and demand perspective, I think the steady consumption of cards is very beneficial for preventing price drops. It allows new players to sell cards obtained from daily rewards in Frontier and buy the cards they need instead.
Ultimately, it would be great to graduate from Frontier and earn SPS in Modern, but I think reaching that level is incredibly difficult, so it might not be realistic.
And personally, I find it very disappointing in terms of obtaining Black Foil cards through the Frontier Draw.
I understand that buying a lot of cards and burning them increases the odds, but if you lose, there's no benefit. Even if you spend millions of DEC, you'll get nothing.
I'm too scared to take such a gamble.🤣
However, there are rich people and lucky teachers in the world. Just because I can't do it doesn't mean that others can't.
So, my Total Entries will probably increase from before. On the other hand, my Frontier Entries will remain the same, so my chances of winning will decrease relatively.
It's unfortunate, but it can't be helped. Those who increase their entries are taking on more risk.
By the way, these are my results so far. Naturally, I haven't won a single prize so far. 😭
What I want you to notice is the number of Total Entries, which is steadily increasing. Should we assume this is because more players are moving up the leagues as they play Frontier Mode?
In Frontier mode, even after the season ends, ratings don't reset except for Gold I, so once they go up, they just keep going up. If your win rate is over 50%, your rating will keep going up, and so will the number of entries.
Alternatively, it could be that the number of new players is increasing. It would be great if the number of new players increased and the game became more and more lively.
Even if they start out playing Frontier, if only a small percentage of them could switch over to Modern... if they'd buy cards, if they'd rent cards...
I wish the excitement of those days would return. Is that even a luxury to think about? 🥲

09/30 のアップデートでとんでも実装がありましたんですが。Foundationのカードを燃やしてエントリーを増やせるとかなんとかかんとか。
これは凄いことですよ？基本、カードの価値は下がっていく一方です。例えば宝箱からカードが出るフロンティアモードでは カードの印刷総量がどんどん増えていって値段が下がっていますよね。
Splinterlands が最高潮に盛り上がった後、発売されたカオスレギオンの印刷数が多すぎて今では値崩れしてとんでもなく安いのもみんな知ってるよね?
フロンティアは初心者向けだろうから値下がりは許容してるんだと思ったんですが、これはなかなか良い？悪い？変更ですね。
私はこのアップデートの功罪を判断できないので今後注目していきたいと思いますです。
Foundationカードを Burnすると Frontier Drows のエントリーが増やせるんですよね？
つまり、大量のカードをBurnすることで BlackFoi lや Arcane のカードを狙う勢がもしも、もしも大量買いを始めたら...？
やっぱり。2倍くらいに上がっている気がします。レジェンダリーでも最低価格のカードは安いからね。キャンペーンモードでも出るし。
他にも値段チェックしてた Gold Foil のカードを確認してみたのですが上がってますね。とはいえ、元値が安いカードなので上がっても 100～200 DEC です。
チェックしたのはデイリーで Gold Foil が出たはいいけど、コモンなので売値が 100 DECを切っていて。値段がそんなに下がっているなら自分で使うか。って思って置いてたカードなんですけどね。
私は Foundation カードは Gold Foil のカードが出たら売却する派（モダンではGF大好き派）なんですけど値段が上がるのは大歓迎です。コモンやレアのカードでも Gold Foil のカードを売って ノーマル の エピックやレジェンドのカードに買い替えるのはありだと思うし。
つまり、底値が上がれば買い替えしやすくなっていいよね！ってコト。ただし、エピックやレジェンドのカードも値上がりしちゃうと買いやすくはならないから残念だけど。
需要と供給の面から言えば、カードがどんどん消費されて行くのは値下がり防止の面ではとてもいいことだと思っています。初心者の人がフロンティアでデイリーリワードから手に入れたカードを売って、必要なカードに買い替えるためにもね。
最終的にはフロンティアを卒業してモダンでSPSを稼げるようになればいいんだけどそのレベルに達するのはとても大変だと思うので現実的ではないかな。
そして、Fronteir Draw で Black Foil カードを手に入れるという面で考えればとても残念。個人的にそのように思います。
大量にカードを買ってBurnすれば確率を上げる事が出来るのはわかるんですけどね。外れたらメリットは0です。何百万DEC使ってても得るものは0です。
そんな博打怖くてできないって。🤣
しかし、世の中にはお金持ちも豪運先生もいるわけですからね。私が出来ないからと言って他の人が出来ないというわけではない。
と、言うわけでおそらく Total Entries は今までよりも増えるでしょう。一方、 My Frontier Entries は変わらないので相対的に当選確率は下がるというわけですね。
残念ですがこれはしょうがない。エントリーを増やしている人はその分リスクを抱えてチャレンジしているわけですからね。
ちなみに私の今までの結果はこの通り。全然エントリー数を稼げていません。当然、今まで一枚も当たっていません。😭
見て欲しいのは Total Entories の数量、順調に伸びてますね。これは多くのプレイヤーがフロンティアモードをプレイするにしたがってリーグを上げているとみればいいんでしょうか？
フロンティアモードはシーズンが終わっても GoldⅠ 以外ではレートのリセットが無いため上がれば上がりっぱなしです。勝率が5割以上であればどんどん上がっていくのでエントリー数も上がる。
もしくは、新規プレイヤーが増えている可能性もあるけどど。新規プレイヤーが増えてどんどんにぎやかになってくれたらいいんですけどね。
最初はフロンティアでプレイしていても、何割かがモダンに流入してくれれば...カードを買ってくれれば、レンタルしてくれれば...
あの頃の賑わいが戻ってきてくれないかな。なんて思うのはぜいたくなんでしょうかね。🥲
