Just the other day, I managed to buy SALTWATER MAGE. It's one of those cards I've been eyeing since Frontier Mode started—it's so strong, I really wanted it.
Since prices had been dropping lately, I thought I might be able to get it cheap, so placing a bid on Peakmonsters paid off.
There are several cards I consider strong in Frontier Mode, and she's the top one. Well, if we're just talking raw power, maybe she's second? After all, the Water Element also has MYSTIC SCALEWEAVER. If we're just talking raw power, is this one stronger?
Well, but. Comparing Level 2, I think MYSTIC SCALEWEAVER is stronger, but at Level 1, both have 2 Attack Power, and Sneak might be more useful than Slow? But there's a Health difference, so still...
Conclusion: Both are strong.
Alright, since I managed to buy it this time, I'll declare SALTWATER MAGE the strongest based on the price difference.
Looking at her stats, her attack power stays at 2 points from levels 1 to 3. Only her Health seems to increase per level.
When I first saw this card's stats, I remember being surprised that even at Level 1, its magic attack power is 2 points!? Plus, it comes with Sneak from Level 1, so it's practically fully developed in terms of abilities.
In other words, it's a wallet-friendly attacker that doesn't really need to be forced up to Level 2 or higher. 😋
The selling point of this card is that it's a powerful unit capable of nearly full performance just by purchasing Level 1. I value this aspect the most.
Well, leveling up increases your Health, and if you're trading blows with magic attack units of the same speed, the higher level one gets to attack first. So it's definitely better to level up.
To use Level 2 or higher, you'll also need to level up your Summoner, so you'll have to consult your wallet on that one.
When it comes to how SALTWATER MAGE is actually used in battle, this is probably the most common scenario, right?
A simple formation that packs in many magic attack units. This formation allows you to include three magic attack units even in its initial state. While each unit's magic attack power is only 1 point, the Summoner's ability boosts magic attack power by +1. This enables three shots dealing 2 damage each, making it quite powerful.
Moreover, with the addition of the SALTWATER MAGE possessing the magic Sneak ability, it's impossible for it to be weak! Being able to take down enemies from behind without being hindered by armor is incredibly powerful.
This common scenario: When two magic attackers face off and trade blows, matches between identical units at the same level become pure luck-based games.
If my last card were the same LUNAKI HOWLER as my opponent's, I'd just have to leave it up to fate and pray. But this time, I have SALTWATER MAGE in play, so I'm safe.
SALTWATER outperforms LUNAKI in both magic attack power and Health, so you can rest assured. Having 5 Health really pays off—it lets you survive two hits.
If I had to be picky, the MYSTIC SCALEWEAVER is even stronger.
The Slow ability can reduce speed, and best of all, it has 7 Health. It's stronger than most tanks!
To summarize.
In fact, both the SALTWATER MAGE and the MYSTIC SCALEWEAVER are the strongest, so if you can get both, you'll want to have them.
The SALTWATER MAGE is a powerful unit that can attack from behind using its Sneak magic attack. Since it's a magic attack, it ignores armor, and with an attack power of 3, it can take down most enemies in just 1 or 2 hits.
The disadvantage is that it cannot concentrate attacks because it targets different enemies than other magic attackers.
MYSTIC SCALEWEAVER is a simpler magic attacker. It slows enemies down and wipes them out from the front with high-damage magic attacks. Its high health also makes it strong in firefights.
Furthermore, as your level increases, your magic attack power rises by 3 points (effectively 4 points due to the +1 bonus from being a Summoner), making its power the strongest.
The downside is that it's an exceptionally powerful legendary card, so the price is a bit steep.
The Water Element becomes significantly stronger if you draw either of these two units. That's right—you don't need to level up your Summoner. For beginners, this is probably the most welcome aspect.
While other elements have powerful units too, most of them don't really show their strength until you level them up.
For example, this LITTLE SISTER gains 2 attack points at level 2, and its Flying ability also counters Earthquake. It's incredibly powerful and I believe it can outperform SALTWATER, but you need to raise your Summoner level to 3 to use it.
Unlike units that can't perform well at Level 1 but become powerful once they reach Level 2, this is a strong unit that delivers full performance with just one copy. That's what I believe is the SALTWATER MAGE's greatest strength.

つい先日、 SALTWATER MAGE が買えていました。フロンティアモードが始まってすぐから強いなー欲しいなーと思ってたカードの1つです。
最近はかなり値段が下がってきてたのでお安く買えないかと思って Peakmonsters でBIDしておいたのが功を奏しましたね。
フロンティアモードで強いと思ってるカードは何枚かありますが、その筆頭が彼女です。いや、強さだけ見るなら2番目かな？ Water エレメントには MYSTIC SCALEWEAVER もいますからね。強さだけならこっちの方が強い？
いや、しかし。レベル2を比較すると MYSTIC SCALEWEAVER のほうが強いと思うけど、レベル1だったら 攻撃力はどちらも2点だし、 Slow よりも Sneak のほうが便利かな?でもHealthに差があるからやっぱり...
結論：どっちも強い。
よし、今回は購入できたことだしお値段差で SALTWATER MAGE が最強という事にします。
彼女のステータスを見ると、レベル1～3まで攻撃力は2点で変わりませんね。Healthだけがレベル毎に上がっていくようです。
このカードのステータスを始めてみたとき、レベル1でも魔法攻撃力が2点なんだ！？と驚いた覚えがあります。しかも、Sneak もレベル1から付いているので能力的にはほぼ完成しています。
つまり、無理してレベル2以上に上げる必要が薄い、お財布に優しいアタッカーです。😋
このカードのセールスポイントはレベル1を購入するだけでほぼフルパフォーマンスを発揮する強ユニットという点。私はこの部分を一番評価していますね。
ま、レベルを上げればHealthが上がるし同じスピードの魔法攻撃ユニットと撃ち合いになる場合はレベルの高い方が先に攻撃できるので上げておくにに越したことはありませんけどね。
レベル2以上を使うためにはサモナーのレベルも上げないといけないのでそこはお財布と要相談という事で。
実際のバトルで SALTWATER MAGE がどのように使われるかというと、こんな感じが一番多いんじゃないでしょうか？
Water で 魔法攻撃ユニットを沢山いれるシンプルな編成。このような編成では初期状態でも魔法攻撃ユニットを3体入れる事が可能です。すべて魔法攻撃力は1点ですが、サモナーの能力で魔法攻撃力が+1され、2ダメージが3発撃てるのでなかなか強力です。
さらに、魔法Sneakの SALTWATER MAGE 追加されるわけだから弱いわけがない！アーマーにも邪魔されずに後ろから倒せるのはとても強力です。
よくあるこの状態。魔法攻撃アタッカー同士が対面で撃ち合うんですけど、同じユニット、同じレベルの対戦は思いっきり運ゲーになります。
もしも、私の最後尾が相手と同じ LUNAKI HOWLER だったら運を天に任せて祈るだけになっちゃうんですが、今回は SALTWATER MAGE を置いているので安心です。
SALTWATER さんは魔法攻撃力でもHealthでも LUNAKI を上回っていますので安心です。やっぱりHealthが5あると2発受けても残るのが強いね。
欲を言えば、 MYSTIC SCALEWEAVER だとさらに強い。
Slow アビリティでスピードを落とせるし、何といってもHealthが7もある。下手なタンクより強いよ！
まとめます。
実際、 SALTWATER MAGE も MYSTIC SCALEWEAVER も両方ともに最強なのでどっちも手に入るなら持っておきたいものです。
SALTWATER MAGE は魔法攻撃Sneakで後ろから攻撃できる強ユニットです。魔法攻撃なのでアーマーは無視するし、攻撃力も3点なので1~2発でほとんどの敵を倒せますね。
デメリットは他の魔法アタッカーとターゲットが変わってしまうため集中攻撃出来ない事です。
MYSTIC SCALEWEAVER はもっとシンプルな魔法アタッカーです。Slowで敵のスピードを下げ高ダメージの魔法攻撃で前から殲滅します。Healthも高いので撃ち合いでも強い。
さらに、レベルが上がれば魔法攻撃力が3点（サモナーで+1されるので実質4点）になるので、パワーも最強。
弱点は優秀すぎるレジェンダリリーカードなのでお値段が高めってことですね。
Water エレメントはこの2体のどちらかが引ければいきなり強くなります。そう、サモナーを上げる必要が無いんですね。初心者的にはこれが一番うれしいと思うんですよね。
他のエレメントでも強ユニットはいますが、レベルを上げないといまいち強さが分からないっていうものがほとんど。
例えば、この LITTLE SISTER なんかはレベル2にすれば攻撃力が2点になり、さらにFlyingアビリティで地震も対策できる。非常に強力で、SALTWATER を超えるパフォーマンスを発揮できると思うんですが、使用するためにはサモナーレベルを3にする必要があります。
こういったレベル1では強さを発揮できないけど、レベル2になれば一気に強くなるユニットと違い、1枚手に入れるだけでフルパフォーマンスを発揮できる強ユニット。それが SALTWATER MAGE の一番の強みだと思うわけですよ。
