There are different reasons as to why some people watch movies. It might be for just for fun, that is, just to entertain theirselves, it might be that they just want to distract their self from something that is bothering them and it can be for educative purpose, where they tend to learn from what they see in the movie.
Regardless of what the reasons are, we still tend to learn one or two things from the movie and I am no exception to that. Just recently, I watched a movie called "Social Network", it was a very interesting and educative movie for me because it gave me a new insight about things and how some decisions, even though they are made for the greater good, are still the wrong ones. The social network is a movie about how Mark Zuckerberg founded Facebook and the ideas, inspirations and sacrifices behind it.
Mark Zuckerberg being a student at that time was a very skilled programmer with great hacking skills also. His first fame came as a result of a split up with his girlfriend which caused him heartbreak, and prompted him to blog about it. He even went to the length of hacking other sites just to get pictures of ladies, and then wrote an algorithm that paired two ladies together for comparison purpose, and that alone generated alot of traffic in the school's server leading to the servers crash and from then onwards, his name began gaining attention.
After that incident, he was approached by some rich brothers with the surname Winklevoss who wanted him to design a website where individuals can create their bio, interest, picture and others can come online to view it, but that was just an idea. He started the project but never took a penny from them and reconstructed, develop and improve their ideas into something more authentic and catchy called "Facebook" as we all know it today. During that period he only had one friend called Eduardo who sticked with him and believed in what he was trying to build.
Eduardo invested money into the baby company at that time whenever money was required, and that earned him the right to be the co-founder of Facebook. Facebook expanded gradually from the dorms of Harvard to different states where it gained more attention, fame and active users. As the company grew, Mark had a fallout with Eduardo due to shares allocation within the company and it resulted to a lawsuit. But before Eduardo sued Mark, the Winklevoss brother's had already started a lawsuit against Mark on the ground that he stole their idea and turned it into Facebook which was gaining more users everyday.
The movie made me understood some things better, and one of those things is that, an idea can never be yours alone as long as you did not actualise it and turn it to reality. You cannot claim ownership to an idea you left in your head when someone else manifest that same idea. Also, always prepare for the worst case scenario even from the person you trust the most, whom seem very loyal. It's best to lower expectations than to allow it betrayal is when we least expect it.
