Hello dear Hive Book Club community, today I want to share with you a review of this book that I eventually visited to be surprised by the incredible ability we have to communicate through art and design.
Depending on the cultural and social influence of the historical time in which we find ourselves, we will express ourselves differently. I eventually take advantage of this to take a look at this magazine, Visual Impact: Creative Dissent in the 21st Century.
My curious eyes not only analyze the influence on designs and photographs, but also the emotions that are expressed through images during a war or natural disaster. I see how art has helped humans so much in social and political criticism, from very saturated arts to minimalist creations in negative. Technique and methods, although important, are not as relevant as the result: an advertisement, a critique, a sketch that is capable of identifying the feelings and opinions of a multitude.

Most of the images in this compendium are powerful, shocking, and realistic. So I'm showing you this poster, Octopus Vulgaris by Jude Landry, which was created to raise awareness about the oil spill that occurred in 2010 in the Gulf of Mexico. In it, we see an octopus in the form of a monster dripping oil that, when it emerges, affects the United States. The damage caused to species and ecosystems by events such as this is staggering, and art, in a creative and direct way, makes us aware of this and expresses a truth that surely concerns many people.
Facts are facts, and we cannot romanticize them. This compendium is full of opinions derived from such situations over the last century. Since our origins, art has given us the ability to communicate and express ourselves, often without the need for words, and Visual Impact: Creative Dissent in the 21st Century brings us down to earth with designs and art that allow us to see these events and facts from another perspective.

Hola querida comunidad de Hive Book Club, hoy les quiero compartir un review de este libro al que eventualmente visito para dejarme sorprender por la increíble capacidad que tenemos de comunicarnos a través del arte y el diseño.
Según la influencia cultural y social el tiempo histórico en el que nos encontremos iremos expresándonos diferentes, eventualmente aprovecho hacer unas ojeadas en esta revista de Visual Impact: Creative Dissent in the 21st Century.
Mis ojos de curiosidad no solo analizan la influencia en los diseños y las fotografías, sino las emociones que se logran expresar mediante imágenes durante una guerra, desastre natural; veo como el arte ha ayudado tanto al humano en la crítica social y política, desde artes muy saturadas hasta creaciones minimalistas en negativo. La técnica o los métodos aunque importantes, lo realmente relevante es el resultado; una publicidad, una critica, un boceto que es capaz de identificar el sentimiento y la opinión de una multitud.

En su mayoría las imágenes de este compendio son fuertes, impactantes y realistas. Así que les muestro este poster Octopus Vulgaris by Jude Landry , que se creó para concienciar sobre el derrame petrolero que sucedió en el año 2010 en el Gofo de México hecho ocurrido ese mismo año, vemos un pulpo en forma de monstruo goteando petróleo que al emerger afecta a Estados Unidos. Es impresionante el daño que se causa a las especies y ecosistemas ante sucesos como ese, y de una manera creativa y directa un arte nos hace tomar conciencia, y expresa una verdad que seguramente preocupa a una multitud.
Los hechos, son hechos y no podemos romantizarlos. De las opiniones que derivan de estas situaciones durante el último siglo está repleta este compendio. El arte desde nuestros orígenes nos ha facilidad esa capacidad de comunicar, de expresarnos, muchas veces sin necesidad de palabras y Visual Impact: Creative Dissent in the 21st Centur nos aterriza con diseños y artes basados que nos permiten ver estos sucesos y hechos desde otra perspectiva.
¿Qué te parecen este tipo de libros? A mi me encantan, son una excelente manera de aprender de nuestra historia a través del arte.
