Good day great members of hive. I go by the name @sammimed. For my entry into the Hive student connect week12. I will be sharing my experience on the little business I did and the part time job that help me financially while in school with the challenges I faced.
As a student, it can be so stressful and frustrating when you have no source of income except from your parents or one or two person's. As an individual who attended a school that cooking was not allowed, I choose to scout and look within for what I can possibly do to raise a source of income.
I explore my academic environment and knowing that most shops close by 9:30pm, I thought and choose to sell little things that can matter a lot. This things were garri, gradnut, sugar and bread. I picked this base on what my money could afford for me.
Gari and gradnut
It was actually moving smoothly and allot of people recognize me and my business too. It wasn't that stressful to me so it was easy to cope with academics.
Although I experience a great challenge. This happens when students are running out of funds. With a little capital it was hard to maintain that business because allot of students were into collecting things on credit that at some point my business nearly crashed because of debt.
Altthough with less stress, I then further choose to apply for a work in a hospital taking a nurse role after I wrote my professional exams.
That serve as another source of income for we. I was so happy about what I was doing and how I was helping my self financially. It wasn't easy at all because of the stress of a nurse and a student. That actually started affecting my academics especially my studying habbit... because of the stress, I find it difficult to study as I use to.
One thing I later understand was the need to balance everything thing. I then adjusted my reading time, my sleep time. This actually helped me allot. And I also understood that it's not about how big it comes, even if it's little, let it just be consistent that's all
Thank you so very much for stopping by....
