This is the courage to face dangers, pain, pressure, and other challenges that test the physical body. For example; a firefighter arriving at the scene of a fire outbreak and then running into the building to save a kid crying on the top floor - you will agree with me that this needs physical courage. Or a soldier deployed on the frontline to lead a troop to retrieve a captured soldier; this also requires physical courage. However, it is worth noting that physical courage is not limited to only facing physical risks and life-threatening scenarios, it can also include exercising to stay fit, committing to taking care of yourself so that sickness will not overpower you. The next form of courage is the social courage. This is the courage you require to stand out, be authentic, be you, and speak up even in the midst of people with conflicting ideas or in the face of judgement. This is the kind of bravery and courage you need to break free from peer pressure. It is social courage that makes you to meet strangers, walk up to them, rub minds with them, make them friends, defend the weak even if it means standing alone. In this world where everyone is seeking public acceptance maybe from social media, you need social courage to stand out. The third courage that we will look at is moral courage. This is the bravery and the courage to do what is right even if means that you will do it alone. It may not be convenient to do what is right, and it may not even be popular, but you still need to do it. You need to learn to take a stand to defy oppression, injustice, corruption, and refuse to compromise your value. I have discovered that each time someone makes the right decision or do what is right even if no one is watching, it makes them a better human. Always know that humanity is not a measure of applause but a function of conscience. ![person-110303_640.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmbmNcWFX663koQuvXRnX8fbP28XmNvmt2M9Wr2XVVohFh/person-110303_640.jpg) Image from [Pixabay](https://pixabay.com/illustrations/person-human-pleasure-sunset-sun-110303) Another dimension of courage that we will look at is emotional courage. This relates to the ability to express feelings, emotions, vulnerability, and how to face pain arising from it. For example, you may have suffered a heartbreak, it will take you courage to be able to love again. This kind of courage is also required to forgive and be forgiven, to admit when you are wrong without picking offences, to control your anger, manage stress, choose inner peace instead of retaliation. If you will take control of your emotions and master them, you will not be swayed by what people do or do not do. The last courage to consider here is the intellectual courage. In a class for example, and the teacher is teaching a topic which you do not seem to understand and you need clarification about it, you need a level of bravery to ask questions and seek more knowledge. This type of courage makes you to think differently, challenge old ways. It also makes you to seek for new methods, become innovative, grow, discover new paths, and create new order. In this world that is ever changing, the people who are courageous intellectually will always lead the way because they will refused to be trapped by the old ways, and they will not be held back by their fears. You have to understand that courage is not a gift but a choice that you have to make and the responsibilities you have to take. ***Thanks for reading***
