People are always good to watch as they come up with new ideas and discoveries. The world has been transformed by inventions and made life easier to all. Looking around me, I can say that inventions such as the telephone, electricity, cars, airplanes and even the internet have influenced the way we live. The world would still be in the dark and the life would have been more cumbersome without inventions. I like visionaries because dreamers are not visionaries, they are those who present solutions to problems.
I sit and fantasize about Nigeria and the entire Africa. We have intelligent individuals, and most of the time, we do not utilize our talents. In my view, we can transform our country in a number of ways, in case more Nigerians focus on inventions. We already have regional inventions such as herbal medicine, small machines that young mechanics make and even mobile applications that were developed by students. All these reveal to us that we can as well make something new.
In case I invent something new, I would aim at addressing one of the largest problems in Nigeria, that of electricity. Nearly all the Nigerians are familiar with how agonizing it is to exist without constant power supply. It hurts the businesses, students are not able to study at night, and families waste so much money on generators fuel.

I would also love to come up with a machine that could produce clean, inexpensive and unlimited electricity to all households in Nigeria without necessarily involving fuel or the government. Suppose you have a small box which you can fit at home and which provides you with sufficient light and power so that you can turn on your fan, fridge, TV, and other appliances and still have the device which does not need recharging after a certain period of time. That would transform lives altogether.
It is also my dream to come up with a system that will assist farmers. Many farmers have been harmed due to the use of outdated practices in agriculture which is very essential in Nigeria. In the event that I develop a machine that is less sophisticated, less costly, and convenient, it would assist farmers to produce more food with reduced pressure.
An illustration is a machine that has the ability to plant seeds, water, and even when the crops require fertilizer; it will save a lot of time and energy. The invention would also not only assist farmers to make more money, but also decrease hunger in the country.
My fantasy also escapes at times. I imagine things that can be amusing or impossible but would be very nice had they existed. Indicatively, as an example, I can envision coming up with a flying car that can bypass the Lagos traffic. Everybody who has ever been caught in traffic in Lagos will be familiar with this dream.
Just imagine that you get in your car in Ojota and fly to Victoria Island in ten minutes without any stress. Life would be so much easier. The other crazy thought of mine is to come up with a phone that does not run out of battery. Such a phone will be a great blessing in Nigeria where there is an electricity problem.

It is not only machines that are invented. I also consider social inventions, such as the establishment of a system that can enable free education and effective education to all children in Nigeria. Poverty has been one of the reasons why many children are out of school. In case there can be an invention, perhaps a digital system that can target teachers and learning material to all the villages at no cost, it would give the children hope of what is to come. One of the best methods of combating poverty is through education and I think an invention in this field would transform the country.
As I consider inventions, I understand that they were always initiated by an idea. The thought might be small or even unattainable, however, with the determination one can make it something great. All inventions that are in existence today had initially appeared like a dream. Planes, like the case of airplanes, would not be even imagined by many individuals but it is the case in the world that today it is transporting thousands of passengers in the world daily. This is the reason why I think that my ideas, big or small, can also be true one day.
To sum it up, inventions are beautiful since they simplify things and real life problems are solved. Personally, as a Nigerian, I aspire to come up with things that can transform the lives of people in my country- constant power, more useful farming equipment, even outlandish concepts such as flying cars. Inventions will always start with the imagination regardless of whether they are realistic or wild. And who knows, may be one day I will invent something that will change the world.
