I got to know that these disasters were not mere incidents in this MCGI topic review. They may also provide us with teachings on how to live, believe and the power of God. Natural calamities help us to realize that life is delicate and we should always have faith in God to protect and guide us. In this research, I noted that natural disasters have been in existence. Bible demonstrates other examples. In Genesis 7, there is a story of Noah where a great flood engulfed the entire earth. God sent the flood to punish the evil in the world but He also saved Noah and his family since they followed Him. This teaches me that despite the importance of disasters being frightening, they can still have a purpose. He is able to guard the rightful even amidst the danger. The other instance is the earthquake which occurred when Jesus died on the cross. In Matthew 27: 51, it states, “And the earth was trembling, and the rocks were tearing. This demonstrates that even nature is a rebuttal to the works of God. This has taught me that natural disasters may indicate something bigger that occurred in the spiritual world. They keep in mind that God has control over all including earth and even the heavens. I also got to know that natural disasters can make us look back into our lives. Whenever there are floods or earthquakes, the people immediately realize the value of prayer, family, and benevolence. During such hard time, many individuals go back to God since they understand that man is not strong enough. The Bible in Psalm 46:1 states, God is our refuge and help in trouble and is very present. This verse educates me to understand that however powerful a catastrophe can be God can save and console us. In some cases, when misfortunes occur, we would question why God permits them. This is a hard question. However, out of this MCGI lesson, I realized that the ways God has are a step above human ways. Natural disasters could occur in order to correct or warn or remind us to lead righteous lives. They also demonstrate to us that this world is not everlasting. Nothing will last forever, and the kingdom of God will be left in one day. In 2 Peter 3:10, God states that the earth will be destroyed and it is a lesson to us that we should be prepared spiritually. I also discovered that such catastrophes unite people and make them love each other. People also unite to assist each other when earthquakes or floods destroy their houses. Even strangers eat, sleep and feel good together. This demonstrates the good heart that God had put in us. I view this as a blessing concealed within an unfortunate occurrence. We are also reminded to care and be compassionate to others. To sum it up, natural disasters are strong phenomena that may leave numerous people dead and depict property. Yet with this MCGI topic review, I came to realize that they are also those things that teach us faith, humility, and reliance on God. They encourage us not to forget to be near to Him, not to disregard His Word, and to be ready to live eternally. God is our saving place even when in danger, and we should be able to trust him at all times.
