Greetings!
The topic before us today is a very good but sensitive topic and this is because it's to do with humans (male and female). It's a topic that has on many occasions raised dust in human society with different opinions being shared among different people in the society.
But before I proceed, I would like to define what gender equality means in my own layman's term. Gender equality in my own view and layman term is when both genders, both male and the female gender, have equal rights in society.
In my own view, gender equality is and would have been the best thing I would have loved to see in operation in our society, but alas! It's not in operation and I personally have not seen the full manifestation of gender equality in our society.
Although, the inequality in human gender didn't just start now as it's been in existence right from the creation of man. In the garden of Eden, it's man that God first created and it's through man's ribs that woman got created and it's even man that named woman, woman. So, going by this and the act of God, woman or the female gender are not created to be equal with man.
Aside from this, it's also written in the scripture that the man is the head of the wife and also, it's commanded to the female gender (the woman) to always submit to their head, which is their husband which is the will of God for them.
All these that i have mentioned above is a pointer that there's no equality in the creation of male and female gender even by God.
Furthermore, even the female gender that are clamoring for gender equality are not ready for what they are clamoring for as they still believe that the man should be in charge of so many things such as family finances, family project and some other things that are needed by the family and the society.
Although, I'm not against the idea of gender equality, but to me there's nothing we can do about what has been destined to be by God and even if there's a way to change it, then the female gender must be ready to do so without putting everything on the male gender.
Aside from this, they must be ready to take up the same task the men are taking so as to be equal with their male counterparts.
Although some of them are already doing more than their male counterparts, that doesn't guarantee their place as the head of the family as there are some things they cannot do without the help of the man.
Also, as for some men, they are not supposed to be called the head of the family and this is because they are not even up to the task of being a man. It's the wife that's doing everything at home which is somehow not good enough. The wife was to assist the man as directed by God, but some men had taken it as a norm that the woman must do their task for them. This is an act of infidelity as recorded by the holy Bible.
My view and opinion about gender equality is that, it would be somehow impossible for the female gender to have the same right as their male counterparts as it's been destined by God to be so.
But if at least they want to be like man, they must also act as the head and as for those men that are acting as the alpha and omega in the home, they should also try and be calm and also, acknowledge the effort of their wives in all they do by not taking them for granted.
As for the active women who are always taking care of the family even at the expense of the man, they should do so with submission and caution and they should not in any way try to be equal with their husband as this may cause chaos in the family. Remember, there cannot be two drivers in a bus driving at the same time. Let's give honor to whom honor is due.
