It's nothing serious

Greetings!

The way people react to things in life baffles me alot, I have seen people getting angry on things that are of no use making big deals out of those things.

Some time ago, a friend of mine Segun got angry with me just because I called him by his name after he had given birth to his first born.

This is a guy that we both grew up together in the same neighborhood and we used to be like partners in everything, but after he had grew up and married, everything changed about him and all those things we used to play with or even joke about changed and he was making a big deal out of those flimsy things that we once used to joke with or play with.

So, calling him his name instead of calling him daddy john sparked the anger in him and he was spitting out fire and I was wondering how calling him his name would have led to this kind of controversy and argument.

It's after he had flared up that I realized that, there's some people who would not like you calling them their names after they might have given birth to their own children.

However, this is not limited to my friend alone as I have seen others fighting over this same issue over and over again.

Just last week, when I was passing by a street, I saw two women fighting by themselves and when I walked up to the side where they were fighting, I asked another passerby what could have caused them to fight themselves till the point of them tearing each other's clothes.

It's this question of mine that elicited the surprise answer I got from this fellow. The woman told me that both women were fighting on a mere issue which could have been settled amicably without causing them this public disgrace and embarrassment.

She said, both were fighting on name calling, saying, “those two are fighting on name calling.” “How?” I asked.

She said, one wanted the other to be calling her by the name of her son, but the other refused and said she would be calling her not by the name of her son, but her normal name.

When I heard this, I bursted into uncontrollable laughter and immediately, I remembered my friend who had once told me not to call him by his name, but her child's name.

But still, I didn't see anything special in this name calling for a time and I was wondering how people have taken it to be a very big deal to them.

In conclusion,  there's many things that are no big deal to me, but to others you mustn't joke about it to them. Well, I will ascribe this to the imperfections of man and also the individual differences of man.

Thanks for reading.
