Greetings!
There's one thing we all believe is constant in life and that thing is CHANGE. The popular saying that says, “change is constant,” is not an ordinary saying, but a saying that has a deep rooted meaning and since I have gotten to know that anyone can change, I have always been and live at peace with people.
Having said this, I would like to respond to the topic of the prompt in the sciFi Multiverse community which talks about social changes.
One thing that I have always seen people complaining about in life is how their closest friend had been treated after he or she, I mean their friends had attained a new height or had become a big man in the society.
Well, I have always had the same thought before now and I would share one of the thoughts with us. This I'm about to share with us happened at the early stage of my life. It's after my secondary school. Then I have this friend of mine who got admitted into the university before me.
He was the first person to gain admission out of all of us and as a result, he went to school and started attending classes. But before he left home, we were best of friends and the kind of relationship that existed between both of us can't be defined as we were more than a friend back then, in fact, we used to do things together and in most cases, we used to rotate our sleeping places, today, he sleeps in our house and by the following his own house would be my abode and place of sleep.
So, that's how we were related before he went to school. In short, we were more than friends and we were like family.
However, when he got to school, everything changed and Ade, who happened to be more than a friend to me became a busy body person.
Although, things didn't begin this way, but when it got to a time, everything changed and he no longer had my time, nor answered my calls as we used to do when he first entered and before his matriculation.
However, after his matriculation, he became so busy that he would not even want to talk to me nor any of our friends again. At this period, I was having this kind of a mindset that he had met with some other people that are better off to me and most of our other friends would come to me to complain bitterly about his new way of life which is about being busy.
So, due to this his new way of life, our bond began to wax cold and that's how our relationship waned. Even when he comes home, we just used to greet each other from afar without talking much.
Furthermore, not quite long, I too got admitted into the university to study pharmacy, but before I went to school, I promised myself not to turn out as my friend Ade had turned out by forming busy, most especially to my friends that are yet to gain admission into the university and to be candid to myself and my reader, I made sure I fulfilled this promise to myself and to all my friends until we started our first practice at the faculty of pharmacy.
It's when we started the real work at the faculty that I got to know that having time to talk and chat with my friends would not be as easy as I had thought but even at that, I still managed to converse with them and apologize for my unavailability which shows the difference between Ade and I.
But this also didn't last long and that's when I know that no one is to be blamed when new challenges come in as new and higher challenges require new energy and quality time.
