Making new friends

I like waking up early every day, spending some time watering the farm. Besides more than 100 olive trees, there are several fruit trees on the farm. Oranges, lemon, apple, fig, pear, persimmon, pomegranate, medlar, plums, and several vines. Among them all, apples are not my favorite, as they are very acidic. Except for the oranges and the lemons, which develop in the winter, most of the fruit comes out during the summer.

A few days ago, my new neighbors told me they have two small pigs as pets, and they eat anything they give them, so I decided to pick most of the apples from the ground underneath the apple trees and bring them in a bucket. As soon as I dropped the apples in the area where the pigs are, they started eating them one after another nonstop :), even the chickens joined the party and had some.

I also took the opportunity to bring some of the ripe figs. One of the trees is full of them, and they need to be picked every day before they start falling or get eaten by the birds. Those were eaten mainly by the 15-month-old daughter, whom I invited to come to the farm and pick them directly from the tree. Next weekend, my wife is coming with my sister in law and my niece, so I need to make sure there are enough for them to also pick some and taste them.
