It's been a tough week as our farm is only 30km away of one of the biggest fires in Portugal which has been active for more than 10 days.
For two days we were inmersed into an ash cloud, smeling and feeling the fire getting closer as the wind was blowing towards the direction of the farm.
Fortunately, the brave work of more than 1500 firefighters together with planes and trucks as well as the highway acting as a firecut, were able to finally keep the flames under control.
The long and intense weeks of heat as well as irresponsible human behavour has resulted in desastrous consecuences for nature and for many families.
I wish this becomes a lesson for people to be aware in the future.
