I met Serpentia few time ago at the cherry woods hidden in an afar mountain. The place was desolately filled with crumbles fallen. The female distinguished, with a scaled and limbless body.

I defined her as a wise creature, living a clandestine life, tossing herself on the cherry trees.
Yet, she was never set free, from the grotesque past haunting her for millennia.
"How could you manage to live so long?" Asked I, listening to her olden words, broken stories of the one who had lost her trust.
"I was forced to lust, after a life that God left me behind. Listen, Kai."
Travel back to the past of thousands years ago, each creature's fate was a bed of roses. Our God was called Light, they brightened this realm in a golden warmth. Even at night, light still everywhere roamed, as time claimed, never missing its charm.
And there came the God's favor child, who was born in the field of light, who was destined to be the last left, who was meant to receive no help, who was buried alive in the soul but remained a lasting breathing hold.
The war exploded between the two Gods. Your holy Homo and our humble Light. Like the commanders barely at the battlefield, the killed ones were only their kids. Some of you died and most of us perished, that was when night became longer until the daylight switched.
The Emperors fought for power and dominance, their kids fought for themselves with the consent to survive.
But at the end of the fight, corpses and deaths were the main to exist. Whilst authority was just nominally irresistible.
Light* had disappeared into somewhere before Homo alighted his searing throne amidst the aloft firmament. For the first time ever, his identity was revealed. Homo* acclaimed the victory of his children in the atmosphere reeking of the defeated blood.
As his greed started to flood, Homo spared his opponent's favorable offspring. He exiled the desperate kid to the faraway, seeing as she would be the walking proof of Light's flake.
Homo* vanished slowly later, after several generations of his humanoids were given birth. More and more time passed, the about- Light*'s -favor knowledge was smashed, until one of those beautiful victors carried out the expedition on her cherry class.'
Her tone was softly enough to throb my heart, as if some paranoids were about to loudly alert.
"Why wouldn't you take revenge?" I fed her with cherries and felt her forked tongue under my fingertips.

"Someone should let it slip, Kai. The favor's life has been too long for me to hold on to such kind of emotion. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth would only worsen the debt. I have learnt to accept that not always we'll be paid as much as we shed. "
"Aren't you lonely to suffer a life like this?"
"Through this mist, I could see my old people came back to life under you-alike appearances, some turned to those flying stingrays, some fertilized into juicy pomegranates, some dived into the river waves, and some cried when they first out to the world from somebody's womb."
"How were you able to know all of that?"
"You might think we don't have ears, but we could hear each others' thoughts. Until the golden era collapsed, we were made to talk and listen. And the world had never been so different, that we realized decent attire wouldn't hide the corrupting core. Gradually, I could no longer comprehend what the birds were singing out of their chirping. The voice of the marine remained silent after I heard the passionate movements of tides. All of a sudden, my life filled with the unknowns from the things I would have really known."
She hummed her voice as if she was reminiscing about an archaic prime without even just a bit of regret. I could yet get what made her so obsessed with a life that had declined from a great reign.
"Kai, do you believe Gods would reincarnate as well?"
"If they ever died to you, I believe they would."
"I once thought Light was gone forever, but I suppose he has come back in several forms of light, beams, flash, stars, moons, suns, anything that shines bright. Even though he might never speak again… he still warms this world, despite the fact it's what his old enemy's descendants have made up, albeit Homo's existence."
"Homo? Hadn't he gone?"
"He's gone… and returned. How coincidental."
Serpentia leaned over me, her frosty flexible body slithered on my skin and arched around my face. Her amber eyes seared in haste as her words traced along her tail.
"See how you've become… you even lost the legs you used to be praised for."
Abruptly, thousands of needles stabbed in my chest, her voice rebounded by my head whilst my breath was chained within an abyss lapped by the waves.
I opened my eyes to see an astounding scenery with a view down from the sky. My silver cathedra lit up due to its burning wheels in the midst of relentless darkness. The ground sparkled with torches, occupied by the buzzing of my creatures. I felt something so strange, the fur on my legs seemed to not be there anymore. Instead of the sharp claws, what I saw were feet with 10 small parts sticking out of them. I tried to synchronize the crash and unbearable bygones whooshed in flash back to me.
"How coincidental… How coincidental…"
Serpentia's voice chilled me up in its cuddle. Golden blood splashed on my thorn, the whole silver hue dyed in agony and conceit. Far from the front line, a damsel was covered in the final light which pierced through floors of smoke and dust. She gazed straight at us, an excruciating look was about to burst.
"Serpentia…!" I yelled and reached out my hand.
I grasped her in my arms, time was brief enough for me to recognize her amber pupils before they melted into the middle of my hug.
"Bye bye, Kai…"
I woke up with a start, a dried feeling from scales ruffled my fingers. They glittered over my waist, the trace was as bright as the wisdom of her mind. The slough laid on the pile of leaves to inform me that she was finally free.
And I ached for all the unwanted memories. ......................................................................................................................... Thank you for reading 💕 Have a great day everyone!
