There was no electricity in my area, even though my generator is working perfectly, but my pumping machine has developed a fault, and my husband had already taken it to the repairer. Because of that, there was no water at home, and my children had a pile of dirty clothes waiting to be washed.
So I asked them to go to my friends house on the street behind ours to do their laundry since she had water. They went there cheerfully to wash . When they finished washing, they carried the big bowl of clean clothes on their heads bringing them back home. I couldn't help but take a picture of them. After that I realised that the picture came with a shadow. And that brought back so many memories.
Watching them reminded me of my own childhood when we use to go to the stream to wash our clothes and fetch water. It was hard work, but it was also a time filled with laughter, Story and togetherness. Seeing my children doing something so similar made me feel some kind of way, and it reminded me of how some things never truly change, no matter how time evolve.
