Hello, Hive traveler friends! A big shout-out to the entire travel community. Today I want to share my exciting experience on a 4x4 trip to Rancho Caruachi, located in Bolívar state, Venezuela. Our goal was to participate in the first Team Jeep of Venezuela meet-up.
¡Hola, amigos viajeros de Hive! En especial, un gran saludo a toda la comunidad de viajes. Hoy quiero compartirles mi emocionante experiencia en una travesía 4x4 rumbo al Rancho Caruachi, ubicado en el estado Bolívar, Venezuela. Nuestro objetivo era participar en el primer encuentro Team Jeep de Venezuela.
For this trip, my dad and I prepared almost a month in advance. It was a serious undertaking! We were going to travel 1,400 km from Sucre state to Bolívar state, round trip, in a single weekend.
The long-awaited day arrived, and we woke up at 4:00 a.m. to go to the meeting point, where we gathered with my dad's friends who would accompany us. Five vehicles left in a caravan from Sucre, all with our batteries fully charged and our excitement overflowing.
Para este viaje, mi padre y yo nos preparamos con casi un mes de antelación. ¡No era para menos! Recorreríamos 1,400 km desde el estado Sucre hasta el estado Bolívar, ida y vuelta, en un solo fin de semana. Llegó el día esperado y nos despertamos a las 4:00 a.m. para ir al punto de encuentro, donde nos reunimos con los amigos de mi papá que nos acompañarían. Desde Sucre, salimos en caravana cinco vehículos, todos con las baterías bien puestas y el entusiasmo a flor de piel.
The journey was quite long, and at many moments, it felt endless. We had several setbacks: the car broke down more than once, we had difficulty getting fuel, and to add to the excitement, it rained for almost the entire trip.
But we took advantage of the route to admire the beautiful landscape of mountains and green prairies. Singing songs and telling stories also made the time pass more quickly.
El trayecto fue bastante largo y, en muchos momentos, lo sentí interminable. Tuvimos varios contratiempos: el carro se averió en más de una ocasión, tuvimos dificultades para conseguir combustible y, para aumentar la emoción, llovió durante casi todo el camino. Pero aprovechamos la ruta para admirar el hermoso paisaje de montañas y praderas verdes. Además, el tiempo se nos hizo más llevadero cantando canciones y contando anécdotas.
Finally, around 6:00 p.m., we arrived in Bolívar state. We were exhausted but full of emotion. After ten years, I was crossing the bridge over the majestic Orinoco River again. Once in Bolívar state, we joined the other teams that had traveled from different parts of the country for this event.
Finalmente, alrededor de las 6:00 p.m., llegamos al estado Bolívar. Estábamos agotados, pero llenos de emoción. Después de diez años, volvía a cruzar el puente sobre el majestuoso río Orinoco. Una vez en el estado Bolívar, nos unimos a los demás equipos que habían viajado desde distintos puntos del país para este evento.
However, our journey didn't end there. The real adventure was just beginning. To get to the highly anticipated Rancho Caruachi, we had to go deep into a muddy and dirty trail by the dim light of the moon.
Sin embargo, nuestra travesía no terminó ahí. La verdadera aventura apenas comenzaba, ya que para llegar al tan anhelado Rancho Caruachi, tuvimos que adentrarnos en una trocha llena de fango y lodo, a la tenue luz de la luna.
Upon arrival, the first thing we did was set up camp to rest. The next morning, I woke up very early to admire the beauty of the place, which gave me an incredible sunrise, and to explore the surroundings a little more.

Al llegar, lo primero que hicimos fue armar el campamento para descansar. A la mañana siguiente, me levanté muy temprano para admirar la belleza del lugar, que me regaló un amanecer increíble, y explorar un poco más los alrededores. Esta historia continuará...
