Hello there! **@saydie** here, playing **Splinterlands** everyday!
![baron.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/saydie/23xARjdEJ1bxVzff8x3agiCY1fm24opSDtyPL8ANmpdyFFWrP68PWvMrL7oxNkjqYt6xZ.png)
Just like Splintershards, which is a hidden gem, many of the Web3-Crypto world have yet to appreciate, there are many lineups and cards in Splinterlands that were still remain underappreciated. Some of the reasons for this were that players were often focused on cards or teams with high damage or speed, as that would often give them a better chance of winning a match by overwhelming their opponent with heavy and swift attacks. While I find that kind of strategy good, I was a player who finds joy in using unconventional teams to win my battles whenever I can. And so, for this week's [Community Engagement Challenge](https://peakd.com/hive-13323/@splinterlands/splinterlands-community-engagement-challenge-hidden-gems), let me share with you an underrated lineup that was able to help me win my battle and needs some spotlight.

### Battlefield Rulesets
Rulesets are the modifiers that change how a player will build their lineup with the cards at their disposal. In the match that I'm about to share, there are three rulesets at play, aside from the 41 mana cap, and with both teams having access to all the elements. ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/saydie/23vhMm8S4jFFmcQyy7nNuKEHcPL1ofhVjBqjPGYDRNPAkPjt5d7xyGwGZFcniDRGCkGZK.png)
___

**Wands Out** is a ruleset that limits the use of units to only magic cards, meaning neither I nor my opponent can use melee or range units, with the exception of those that also have magic attacks. ___
![Up To Eleven.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/saydie/AJkLFM29bUs32VDeR7Sucq4G8XvhdWBfuLmuc35zLnsG8mswiaoURxR2tjhhTFb.png)
**Up To Eleven** gives all units the *Amplify* ability, which increases the damage from retaliatory abilities by 1, which in the setting of this battle, will be mainly focused on magic.
___

All units lose the *Sneak* *Snipe*, and *opportunity* ability, which means most of the damage will now be directed to the front.

### Opponent Lineup

### My Underrated Lineup
Given that I'm talking about an underrated team, the choice of archons and units does not make much sense, as for most players, overwhelming them with speed and damage was the first strategy that came to mind. That was not the case with this lineup, which was composed of:
Archon: Cryptic
![Akane_lv4.png](https://d36mxiodymuqjm.cloudfront.net/cards_by_level/rebellion/Akane_lv4.png)

The choice of using the Archon **Akane** may give me a head start in my attack when I give two of my units with *Ambush* ability, but in terms of magic attack, it neither increases my magic damage nor decreases my opponents. Its upside is that it allows me to use Dragon units, but in this battle, I only use one. ___
Units

As you can see, it was not a strong magic team, and the only card I had that had decent damage was even nerfed by the opponent. Even so, I was still able to with this lineup.
![CA.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/saydie/23u5vePV5iwFG29wh3uQfdDbYigwRfxyEFNhfbBe6JWiCDCHhc7xegwdPbFxERu36JqLW.png)
### Battle Showcase ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/saydie/23tGbqzZw6nDeRgJe4B9vMqNW1fDTVjyYaxQc7MZ7r4DpV3VZvfzHnMSQkNhvXsgTJmJt.png)
Upon seeing my opponent's lineup during the tactics stage, I immediately learned that my opponent has gone to nerf my magic units which to begin with does not have a strong magic attack, turning most of my unit's damage by 1 and with the opponent having a unit with *Void* most of my attacks will not inflict any damage on my opponent, so I decided to place the *Ambush* ability to *Chaos Adjutant* and *Night Reaper*. **Ambush Round:** ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/saydie/23tGcPHkCLyGiTepxcsNPMC284bTPerboLv9aaMHUY3gQ5sCSvYEVooAfo81nw1AyAowh.png) With my team, the only one that has units with *Ambush*, I was able to attack my opponent first, and as a result, I was able to inflict damage to 3 of their cards, inflict *Poison* to Janni Oracle, and reduce the damage of Arcane Skinwalker by 1. **Round 1:** ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/saydie/23tGcJ15UchpvAMP77ju7niWEu5PPvoyVEXLQb1taUcnM1U9Pic2hJUfxdJscFt6vCM3y.png) In round 1, my team was able to bring down their Water Diviner since it does not have *Void*, and even my low magic damage can still reduce its health slowly while on the side of my opponent, they tried to attack my **Dark Arborist** but the only thing that they do was to take the brunt of the reflected magic damage to them as any damage it received was healed by **Arachne Weaver**. **Round 3:** ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/saydie/23tGbvkHYu5KCbvP3pn9mDwT7qJxiWdLEE7Y7Pv3iHL5VyHw1AvNwqUk8hXqtnUVgNPMa.png) In round 3, my team was able to take down both Janni Oracle and Arcane Skinwalker, mainly due to their attack being reflected to them. **Round 7:** ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/saydie/23tGaDRhKovKjagomaSgQN6uQdDyUortV41ybUSLLsmbdjUWxpyK6pbbAhAhKTWQKYhPs.png) Fast forward to the final round, we finally beat the last unit of the opponent, with an attack by **Night Reaper**, but for the other 2 they were beaten by **Chaos Adjutant** together with the self-inflicted damage they get when they attack **Dark Arborist**

### Closing
In battles, speed and strength are not all that matter to win a match. Sometimes a good use of the card's abilities is more important than their attack, so it is important to experiment on different cards and lineups to find hidden gems among them that can win you in certain situations. Thank you, and see you on the next post!
