Hello there! **@saydie** here, playing **Splinterlands** everyday!

Every Splinterlands battle we make, win or lose, has a story with it, which, for a Web3 game, will be forever stored in the blockchain. Every choice of cards, the strategy we use, and the logic behind our counters after the match are then turned into immutable records that will stay on the chain even after we're long gone. However, unless someone digs through it, those will remain nothing but hashes of transactions. That is why, for this week's [Community Engagement Challenge](https://peakd.com/hive-13323/@splinterlands/splinterlands-community-engagement-challenge-battlefield-breakdowns), I want to break down my most recent battles and put them in the spotlight.
### Battlefield Rulesets
Before we choose which cards and what strategy to use, the first thing that we need to consider is the active rulesets that can either place certain restrictions on the cards that players can choose or give abilities/debilitations on cards. In the battle that I'm about to show you, there is a 47 mana cap with the Fire and Dragon elements unusable.

Aside from that, there are also three active rulesets in this battle, which were:
___

**Broken Arrows** is a ruleset that bans the use of any units that have the range attack, meaning my only option to damage my opponent was to either use melee or magic attacks.
___

**Weak Magic**, on the other hand, makes magic damage to hit the armor before it can damage the target's health, much similar to the Void Armor ability.
___

For the final ruleset comes **Are you Not Entertained?**, which allows both teams to summon Gladiator cards, which were typically mostly used in Guild brawls or with the use of Chaos Legion soulbound summoners.
___
### Lineup Breakdown
After taking all the active rulesets into consideration, I decided to have a melee-focused team since magic attacks make it not much different from melee attacks, so they need to go through the target's armor first before they can inflict damage, due to the Weak Magic ruleset. And with that, my team is composed of:

Archon: Elias Max Pruitt
Card Units
### Battle Showcase

Usually, when I use **Elias Max Pruitt**, I will always place the *Armored Strike* ability on **Commander Slade**, which, with increased armor, can inflict a huge amount of damage, but upon seeing the opponent's team and finding that the opponent also has **Commander Slade** at the first position, which is faster, I decided to placed it instead on **Isgald Vorst** since it can attack the opponent with the least health, regardless of their position, as well as if it were able to beat the target, it can became more powerful due to it's *Bloodlust*.
**Round 1:**
As expected, with the opponent's tank is much faster than any of my units, most of the attacks did not land on it, but with **Isgald Vorst** able to attack any units, it was able to defeat **Daigendark Surveyor** using its armor and inflict another 4 damage to **Chaos Jailer** with its melee attack.

**Round 2:**
With round 2, not only **Isgald Vorst** able to defeat **Commander Slade**, but it was also able to defeat **Chaos Jailer** and, as a result, gave it a +2 increase on all of its stats.

**Round 4:**
Fast forward to round 4, **Isgald Vorst** finally put an end to **Kelan Gaines** which ends the match. It was lucky that **Isgald Vorst**'s attacks during round 3 missed, because if not, the battle would have ended there. All in all, **Isgald Vorst** was able to beat 4 units, resulting in +4 increase in all of its stats when the battle ends.

### Closing
And that's the breakdown of my latest battle for today. Thanks to the summoner tactics, I was able to change my strategy upon seeing my opponent's lineup, and that decision and flexibility is what led me to win my battle.
Thank you, and see you on the next post!
