The universe is an incredibly huge place with trillions of galaxies within it. To help you picture how huge the universe is, our solar system is located in the Milky Way galaxy, and a single galaxy is enough to house tens to hundreds of millions of planetary systems. So, it was not really a question of whether there is another planet that can support life or not, but rather how we can reach it. Just trying to leave our own solar system alone will take us hundreds of years with our current technology, and assuming it will work that long. But in the off-chance that we find another habitable planet and have the means to relocate there, I will probably grab the opportunity to start a new life there instead of staying on Earth. ____ It's not that I do not care about Earth, so I choose to immediately abandon it as soon as a new planet suitable for life is discovered. Rather, I deeply care for it, just like how I care for my home, as it is on Earth that I have spent all the years of my life, along with all the memories, and met all the people in my life. It's just that Earth has become very populated, with its resources dwindling every day, and unless we do not find ways to preserve Earth's resources, it will be just a matter of time before it becomes uninhabitable. That is why, if moving people to another planet will help to at least reduce the consumption of resources a little bit, I am willing to relocate, even if that means leaving my home planet. Furthermore, I also talked in one of my previous [post](https://peakd.com/hive-153850/@saydie/i-once-dreamed-of-reaching-the-universe-unknown), about how I dreamed of becoming someone who could explore the universe, so while I am only traveling, from one planet to another, I can still think of it as an unforgettable experience.

Since it was a foreign planet, chances are, its resources were untouched, so the people who migrated to it would not have any trouble with resources. That said, A new planet also means zero infrastructure that we enjoy on Earth (transportation, internet, entertainment), so most likely those who will migrate there will also serve as the workforce to develop that planet, and there may be plant life on that planet, but there is still the question of whether we can eat it or not, so we may need to cultivate our own food in order to survive in that planet. There is also a risk of us getting an unknown disease, so saying that moving from one planet to another does not involve a risk or that they will leave a good life can be far from the truth.

___ At the end of the day, Earth is a populated planet with dwindling resources, and if we do nothing, the day that it cannot support life will eventually come. Whether it is to find alternatives for the resources we need or to migrate and start anew on a foreign planet, even if that means abandoning their home planet. Thank you for reading my post, and see you in the next one!
