I will try to write down my thoughts based on some life experiences and my observations.
Stagnancy
The opposite of growth is stagnancy. Have you observed a small puddle of rain? After it stops raining, the water in the small puddle remains stagnant until it eventually evaporates or drains into the soil. Some people stay put in their careers or lifestyle without any desire to change even a bit. They are uncomfortable with change and do not desire to experience new things or move on to better situations in life. Although such lives may seem comfortable to many, especially seniors, a small change or two can bring about joy. For example, a small trip to a far-off destination can refresh and rejuvenate. A better job with higher pay can help in solving unpaid debts. So, think about it if you want this and look out for such opportunities. Keep reading about new developments.

Oversmartness
Ever notice small children who try to interrupt elders when they are talking? Such children learn this habit from their elders in the family. It is not a good habit and will cause other people irritation. Well-mannered people are always welcome, unlike the oversmart ones. I have met such children who try to behave as if they know everything and give advice to even knowledgeable, skilled workers. The parents of these kids think that they are smart, but they do not realize how badly it is received by others. Another category is the case when some family members or friends come visiting, and one of the host family members starts complaining rudely about how tired they are, or a lack of supplies, etc, or some such inconvenience. The visiting members are made uncomfortable by such scenes and might choose to either leave or end up quarreling. Ever come across such a situation? It is not decent to behave inappropriately. Overcoming such immature behaviour is growth.
