A big hello to the VDC - Villa de Cura community, hoping that all its members are healthy and experiencing moments of joy and well-being. For this week's 13th, I'm bringing you a song from the Zulia region: the waltz "Brisas del Zulia," with lyrics by Alba Molero and music by Amable Espina. This waltz has been performed by many vocalists, including Alfredo Sadel, Julio Jaramillo, Rosalinda García, Lila Morillo, Victor Hugo Ayala, Chucho Avellanet with La Rondalla Venezolana, Leo Marini, Roberto Yanes, and Fernando Albuerne. The lyrics of this waltz sing of nature, of the love of one's homeland represented in the waves of Lake Maracaibo, in the swaying palm trees, in the breeze whose murmur has been the lulling lullaby of the early years of life and which, as the protagonist, gives the song its title. It's a love song to the "small homeland" in a poetic language in which everything is good, everything is beautiful, like the foam that is "plethoric," a word whose meaning is to be full of something and, when referring to a person, to be full of joy and energy, and which, honestly, I haven't found in the lyrics of any other song. The original version I'm sharing is the one performed by the unforgettable Alfredo Sadel, "Venezuela's favorite tenor." Although I invite you to take some time to listen to the versions of the other vocalists who made this song their own, performing it with a lot of their own talents and achieving diverse versions.

Lirycs //Swaying the palm trees As if they were the rocking of ships I stand in my homeland to evoke The breeze of my gentle lake Like a fresh perfume Like a caress of sweet love That gives warm breaths The intoxications of my clear sun//

The waves of my lake Resemble crystal seagulls That pretend to be caravans Following the breeze of a beautiful ideal

Full foams Subtle illusions of the sea That flee behind the shadow Of an immense coconut grove

Daydreaming before the mist With pupils full of sun Breezes of Zulia Lullaby I never forget your caress

Daydreaming before the mist With pupils full of sun Breezes of Zulia Lullaby I never forget your caress
