I was thinking about this the other day. The beauty of blockchains and most crypto is that there is full transparency when it comes to the ledger. All transactions can be viewed and essentially traced (even if down a long rabbit hole).
However, its transparency in numbers, not people. Unless you know a wallet address it owned by someone, really it is anonymous.
Now, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with this when it comes to basic transactions; payments, sales, etc.
The question is - what is your comfort level when it is leaders of communities? Leaders of big projects that have financial implications for you and other?
In those instances is it more comforting if said parties are doxxed or does it even matter as people can do both good and bad whether you know them or not?
It's an interesting thing to ponder.
Personally, I like to know who I am involved with. Folks that want to stay anonymous behind account #s and usernames will always have me a little skeptical, whether warranted or not.
I do realize many value privacy, but certain roles in life lead to that option not always being on the table.
What is your thoughts?
There is no wrong answer. We all get to make choices and have opinions on what we think works.
