Heute möchte ich dir die Geschichte vom Johannes erzählen, von Dr. Johannes ?, der mich heute mit dem Taxi ins Krankenhaus Nord in Wien kutschierte. Den Nachnamen habe ich mir zwar irgendwo notiert, aber aufgrund des Datenschutzes bleiben wir bei Johannes.
Richtig gelesen, ein Dr., noch dazu Dr. med. Johannes, kutschierte mich mit seinem Mercedes Benz B-Klasse ins Spital.
Vielleicht fragst du dich: hä, warum und wieso fährt ein Dr. Taxi?
Nun, er ist satte 81 Jahre jung, quicklebendig und macht das rein zum Zeitvertreib. Freunde, liebe Leser, der Typ ist mindestens genauso cool wie Pedro aus der Schweiz, den ich damals in Dubai kennenlernen durfte.
Johannes fährt Taxi, um sich die Zeit zu vertreiben. Rund eine Stunde brauchten wir vom 12. Wiener Gemeindebezirk über den Gürtel ans andere Ende von Wien. Eine Stunde, die mir vorkam wie 30 Minuten, denn das Gespräch war so nett und herzlich, dass ich am liebsten weitergefahren wäre.
Johannes teilte mir mit, dass er in und vor der Pension alle "Scheine" gemacht hat, die man in Österreich machen kann.
Er ist Jäger, Privatpilot, hat den Pilotenschein für Linienjets, das Küstenpatent fürs Boot, das Donaupatent usw.
Herrlich und spannend, denn meinem wehen Knie war es zu verdanken, dass ich diesen Menschen zumindest kurz in mein Leben lassen durfte.
Er verriet mir auch, dass es im Café Hummel zwischen 8 und 9 Uhr morgens den Cappuccino nur um 2,40 Euro gibt und er dort immer frühstücken fährt. Wir plauderten über dies und das und die Zeit verging wie im Fluge.
Als ich ihm dann 7 Euro Trinkgeld geben wollte, meinte er: „Aber geh, nein, ich brauch das ja nicht zum Überleben“, und gab es mir zurück.
Ganz ehrlich, wie ist das bei dir? Bist du verschlossen oder weltoffen?
Alles im Leben hat einen Sinn und man trifft sich immer zweimal. Denke darüber einmal nach.

Today I want to tell you the story of Johannes, Dr. Johannes ?, who drove me with his taxi to the Krankenhaus Nord in Vienna today. I did write down his last name somewhere, but for privacy reasons we’ll just stick with Johannes.
Yes, you read that right – a doctor, even Dr. med. Johannes, chauffeured me in his Mercedes Benz B-Class to the hospital.
Maybe you’re asking yourself: huh, why on earth is a doctor driving a taxi?
Well, he’s a proud 81 years young, full of life, and does it just for fun. Friends, dear readers, this guy is at least as cool as Pedro from Switzerland, whom I met back in Dubai.
Johannes drives a taxi simply to pass the time. It took us about an hour from Vienna’s 12th district across the Gürtel to the other end of the city. An hour that felt like just 30 minutes, because the conversation was so warm and heartfelt that I would have loved to just keep on driving.
Johannes told me that before and during retirement he collected all the “licenses” you can possibly get in Austria.
He is a hunter, a private pilot, has the license for commercial jets, the coastal boat license, the Danube license, and so on.
Wonderful and fascinating – and all thanks to my aching knee that I got the chance to let this person briefly enter my life.
He also told me that at Café Hummel between 8 and 9 a.m. you get a cappuccino for just €2.40, and that’s where he always goes for breakfast. We chatted about this and that, and the time just flew by.
When I wanted to give him a €7 tip, he simply said: “Oh no, I don’t need that to survive,” and gave it back to me.
