I turned 50 years old this #Beersaturday and my brother's family, my mom, my wife and I decided to do an Escape Room.
This is a picture taken after we successfully completed the escape room.
Escape Rooms have been around for years and always sounded fun to me but I had never tried one. So we decided to go to Pleasanton California to Clockwise Escape rooms.

As you can see Clockwise Escape Room currently has two escape rooms "Revenge of Medusa" and "Saving Frankenstein". We choose Saving Frankenstein. Now if you have never heard of an Escape Room I will briefly explain. You are locked into a room and you and your team must search the room for clues in order to solve games and puzzles in the room that will eventually lead to your escape.
The Frankenstein room we were put into was a small room. We located clues and solved a few puzzles.
After about ten minutes we found a key to a secret passage that lead into the room Frankenstein was located in.
We found numerous body parts that helped assemble Frankenstien. After solving numerous puzzles we were about ready to bring old Franky back to life.
So it was time to light up old Franky and I threw the switch.
I must say this was a very fun group event. I highly recommend trying one. Clockwise Escape Room impressed me that so much time and expense was spent on special effects and lighting. The special effects really made you feal as if you were in an old castle.
So when we were done with the Escape Room we headed across the parking lot to McKay's Taphouse and Beer Garden.

McKay's has some good food as well as great beers. We ordered food, I had a Cuban sandwhich (Beer Mojo braised Pork & sliced Ham, served on Cuban style SaltCraft sweet roll with mustard, pickles & Swiss). Then we grabbed a glass of what we came for.
The first glass we had was called All in IPA from Faction Brewing. Faction Brewing is a local favorite of mine with the brewery located not far from me in Alameda California. The reason it is called all in is the fact that the brewery rotates a single hop into the beer. This one was brewed with HBC -1019 hops which is wild pollinated. The flavor is tropical and tastes great. The balance of this IPA is lighter on hops then most IPA's but I highly recommend it. This beer comes in a 7% ABV. I am excited to see what the next hop they brew into this beer will tast like.

The next beer we had and we had a few of them, was called The Stickiness from Fieldworks Brewing. Fieldworks Brewing started in Berkeley California and now has about a half dozen location around California's bay area.
The Stickiness is a Hazy IPA that has 7%ABV. The beer is brewed with Citra and Galaxy hops. The beer has the typical hazy IPA flavor of tropical fruit and doesn't disappoint on the hops. The hops flavor is strong on this beer but good.

After having a few beers, great food, and fun we headed home. I was very happy to have spent my 50th Birthday with my family.
Hope everyone else had a great weekend also.
