I just took a look at my replies, which I've been forgetting to do for quite some time. And there I found a Happy Hive Birthday greeting from @hivebuzz, posted yesterday. Eight years on the blockchain! That means I arrived shortly after @generikat and about a year before @snook, both of whom have also mentioned recent Hive birthdays.
It has been an interesting 8 years. @freedomtowrite introduced me to Freewritehouse early on, and I posted regularly there for quite some time. Then life got in the way: illness, family drama, and the welcome arrival of more grandchildren. Now, months sometimes go by between my posts. But the blockchain is always here, waiting for me. I have pictures all ready for two or three posts, but haven't gotten around to writing and posting.
Just now my husband is recovering from carpal tunnel surgery on his dominant hand. It seems to be healing well, and he certainly doesn't need as much help as he did after the rotator cuff repair surgeries, or the broken ankle, or the chainsaw cut on his foot. I need to stick around the house more than usual in case he does need help, but maybe that will mean I have more time at home in which to write a post or two! I will try.
Thank you to everyone who has been supportive of my writing attempts here on the blockchain. I feel as if I have a whole network of friends I've never met in person. And thanks to @jacobtothe for encouraging me to join.
