Late June Garden Report (Mostly Flowers)

@scribblingramma · 2025-07-01 03:30 · HiveGarden

It looks as if everything is finally planted in the garden! It took three tries before I succeeded in getting dill to grow. The first packet of seeds were old, the second package was brand new but just didn't sprout, but these from the third package are starting to peek through the soil. I wonder if they will mature quickly enough for making pickles?

The columbines are nearly done blooming now, but I took photos of the different colors on June 11th. I didn't realize I had eight colors!

My peony had six flowers this year. I just bought it last year, so it's still a small plant. I love the vibrant dark pink color.

I found out one of my favorite garden nurseries was having a closeout sale on annuals, and I couldn't resist taking a look. This is what I ended up buying.

Most of the flowers went into this pot:

The snapdragons were planted along the front of an existing flower bed. However, I may have to move them into pots; everything else in that area is a perennial, and I don't water it as often as the snapdragons would prefer.

The annuals in my deck railing planters are doing well. The petunia basket has already had a major trim, and is just starting to bloom again.

In my next garden post, I will plan to include pictures of the vegetable garden, where most of the little plants are growing nicely.

All photos taken on my Android phone.
