The picture above is us going to an overnight trip to Whidbey Island. We packed the X5 suv completely full. Usually, we travel light, but not this time around. We also took around twenty alpacas with us for our daughter to play with.
This time around, we were able to board the first ferry to the island as we came Sunday evening and all the vacationers have already made it there Friday night or Saturday for the three day Labor day weekend.
We arrived at the ferry dock right in time for the 5:15 ferry, but when we asked if we're going to make it to the ferry they told us that we would make it to the late 4:45 ferry.
After waiting for a little while, we boarded the ferry, and after a short ride, we made it onto the island. From the ferry, it was around twenty minutes' ride to the place we were staying at.
On the island we went to a new beach where we had never been. It is really fascinating how every beach on this relatively small island is different in terms of what kind of shells it has or if it has small crabs hiding under every stone.
This particular beach was very secluded, and we were the only people walking around the beach. This beach had no crabs hiding under the stones at all, which disappointed our twelve year old, but it did have lots of shells and a lot of barnacles on the shore, which we had never seen before.
After walking around the beach for a while, we acquired some appetite and decided to check out a new pizza place nearby. It turned out to be a chain: Pizza Factory. We ordered cheese pizza for our daughter and Greek pizza and salad for us.
The place was not very friendly, I guess we are tourists and have not followed the usual online ordering protocol. Eventually, they somewhat warmed up to us. We asked if they delivered to the place we stayed at, which was only fifteen minutes away, but we were told that they didn't.
The pizza and salad were pretty decent for the chain restaurant. It always helps when pizza is straight out of the oven.
After eating at the restaurant, we drove straight home. It was a nice day away from our usual routine, and the view was really nice. We looked up the wait for the ferry back home, and it was over ninety minutes! I guess everyone was trying to get off the island after the three-day weekend.
Splinterlands season recently ended, and I missed both Splinterlands posts last week, so hopefully, I will catch up this week.
For the first post, I am thinking of posting a detailed review of my season as well as my reward card progress.
It's interesting how crypto is not doing much right now, but silver is over forty dollars, and gold just made an all-time high!
I am up over fifty percent on my Sprott Physical silver position and am slowly scaling out of it. I'm thinking of putting it into a money market fund while I wait for a major correction or the next bear market to start slowly getting back into equities.
