In the post today I would like to share a Tier Five Brawl Battle where I saw the lineup and thought that there is no way I am going to win. My lineup held up and I won what I thought was for sure a lost brawl battle.
The Ruleset and My Strategy
There are three rulesets in effect for this tier five brawl battle. We have Noxious Fumes, Holly Protection and Beefcakes rulesets in effect. It is also a high mana battle with sixty mana available for the line up.
There are four splinters available to use in this battle: Water, Life, Death and Dragon. When I saw the ruleset my immediate thought was that I need as much healing as possible, so I selected a legendary summoner Lily Shieldpaw that adds one health to all friendly monsters and has a triage healing. Another important ability that Lily Shieldpaw has is the camouflaged ability that lets you control the flow of the battle.
Here I have a perfect companion for this ruleset for Lily Shieldpaw: Agor Longtail. Agor is a legendary rarity monster from the Chaos Legion card set that has a taunt ability as well as self heal ability. So now we have a double heal on a very substantial taunt monster Agor that comes with fourteen health that is boosted by plus one health from our Lily summoner.
How can we boost the health and healing on our taunt monster where most of the opponent attack is likely to fall onto? Well we can give it one more triage heal from Angelic Mandarin and we can boost its health even further by using an epic rarity gladiator card Edith Emberstar.
Edith is also very useful because it can cleanse our tank: Arkemis the Bear which is very useful in the Noxious Fumes ruleset where all our monsters start as poisoned. Not to mention that Edith starts with a five ranged damage and can get even deadlier if her Bloodlust ability is triggered.
Since we have a Holy Protection ruleset in play I thought that Sergeant Grauzral would come in very handy with her splash damage, additionally Sergeant has immunity to poison which is very handy in the Noxious Fumes ruleset that is in effect here.
And last but not least we have another Chaos Legion set legendary member: Runemancer Kye. This card is perfect for the Noxious Fumes because it leaches health from her opponents when it strikes so it will in effect keep herself alive by just leaching. Additionally if my opponent decides to use a taunt monster like I did they will have a really nasty surprise in the form of double magic damage. Which in this case would be six magic damage from our Runemancer Kye.
The Battle
Link to Tier Five Brawl Battle Now that we looked at the ruleset and discussed my strategy for this battle lets take a look at the actual battle.
When I first saw this lineup I thought this is definitely going to be a loss for my team. CCoin has a high level Kelp Initiate which I do not own and has a substantial dual tanks in front boosted by Possibilus The Wise summoner.
In the back he has a huge Wave Brood that takes less magic damage and he has one of the best Gladiator cards Isgald Vorst as well as weapons training from Kulu Mastermind. This sure looks like a very tough team to overcome!
The first round was not as bad as I have expected, but it still looked like I am in trouble:
In the second round my Gladiator card scored a huge win taking out their taunt monster and gaining in her abilities:
In the third round we lost our tank and it looked really bad for a moment before we disposed of their first tank. At the start of the round four the situation is starting to look much better for our team, though their secondary tank is still quite worrisome:
Even and the start of round five their Baakjira is still a very serious threat: 
But then huge strikes from our gladius card and the shier tenacity of my team is starting to overtake their defenses:
At the start of Round Six we are suddenly looking in control!
And just like that I bring my first brawl victory in this brawl to my guild: YGG Legion!
