Introduction
This week Splinterlands challenged the community to come up with a Strategy that doesn't always gets the spotlight.
For this challenge I am going to share a Noa The Just upfront without weapons training strategy in a low mana battle where Earthquake and Melee Mayhem rulesets are in effect.
The Strategy
Usually when Noa The Just is used it is used in conjunction with some sort of weapons training. I like using it in conjunction with the Possibilus The Wise Summoner and place it in the second position and weapons train it using Kulu Mastermind.
In this case I am using it in a completely different way without weapons training. Since this is a Melee Mayhem ruleset battle where units can use melee attacks from anywhere it means that I can expect a lot of melee attackers hit my first position.
Noah The Just
This is where Noah The Just really shines. This is a unit that is hard to kill as it is a very high speed card with Doge, Backfire, Rust and Martyr abilities.
I am playing a maximum level Noah The Just and am boosting its speed and shield with my Kelya summoner. When boosted this Epic rarity rewards card comes with a speed of seven, seven health and seven shield. Those basic specs are nothing to sneeze at, but it also comes with four very important abilities to this battle:
Rust - Rust takes away two shield points from all enemy units, this is important in any battle but the battle where earthquake ruleset is in effect this becomes absolutely crucial and can mean a difference between loosing and winning.
Evasiveness - This ability gives a twenty five percent chance to evade physical attacks. That means their ranged and melee attackers will have a 25% chance of missing when trying to hit this unit I am going to place on the forefront of my lineup.
Backfire - Backfire deals a physical damage of two points to the enemy units when they miss and in this case missing is quite likely as this is a very fast unit with evasiveness.
Martyr - When Noah The Just eventually is killed it will boost the adjacent unit with plus one to all stats.
In the second position I am placing the common rarity reward card:
Pelacor Bandit
Pelacor Bandit is one of my favorite reward cards, for just three mana this little gem has really impressive stats and very useful abilities for this ruleset.
This common rarity reward card has four melee damage, seven speed when boosted by Kelya summoner and has sneak and flying abilities.
Hardy Stonefish
Next I placed hardy stonefish. This is a card that normally doesn't get much play, but here it can attack with two melee damage and has three health and one two shield. In such a low mana battle this is a good card to use.
Halfling Refugee
I usually play Halfling Refugee at the very front of my lineup, but here I am trying to see if I can out survive my opponent and am placing this card last and hope that it can self heal and out live my opponent while hiding in the back.
The Battle
Link to the Battle
Now let's take a look how this strategy would work in a real battle:
Here we have a low mana battle with only fourteen mana available to us. Melee from anywhere and Earthquake rulesets are in effect. my opponent chose to use a team headed by a legendary summoner Astral Entity. This summoner removes armor on my team, which is most inconvenient in the Earthquake ruleset.
He is also playing a Cursed Slimeball upfront that is likely to be revived by the Astral Entity that would give physical damage to all of my monsters and will do it twice. Let's see how it will playout:
In the round one my team was very unlucky as Halfling Refugee started the very first round with exhaustion. Other than that everyone did as expected and Noa The Just was definitely that star of the show scoring three for three backfires!
In the second round Halfling Refugee finally did heal itself and scored a kill while Noah The Just continued his streak of perfect backfires eliminating their last standing monster.
