When it comes to the current Splinterlands gameplay I believe the most exciting part are guild brawls. And in guild brawls I have been a part of tier one, tier two and tier three as well as tier five guild brawls. Without question tier five brawls are the most exciting!
Through out the last year or so I got to play most of the frays in tier five guild brawls. But my specialty is playing Wild Diamond Brawls and Wild Gold Brawls. I have two accounts that play in tier five guild brawls: one for YGG Legion guild where I usually play Wild Diamond fray and one for Plan B where I play Wild Gold tier fray.
Current Brawl
I would like to start with the current tier five brawl that I was a part of. This brawl the same as my last brawl had both Plan B and YGG Legion as part of the same brawl. That happens a lot since there are not very many guild participating in Tier 5 brawls.
As you can see from the image above there are only twenty three guilds that are battling in tier five and these 23 guilds are sharing an SPS reward pot of 29,606 SPS this brawl. That is quite a bit of SPS...
Even for the sixth place out of seven guilds in this brawl the SPS rewards for each guild member in YGG Legion was 136.121 SPS. We also got 5080 Merits each for placing at number six. Well, we are a very relaxed guild so we rarely take top three in tier five brawls. We also have some space available in YGG Legion so if you would like to try yourself in the most competitive brawling tier of Splinterlands please let me know. I am an officer so I can talk to the guild owner and probably get you in.
As you can see our performance was not great we had two wins for every three losses 60-90 Win/Loss ratio. Plan B on the other hand placed second and had almost a reverse ratio of 92 wins vs 58 losses. But Plan B is a VERY competitive guild where you have to have at least a 60%+ win ratio in braws to just be a member of the guild.
How Did I Do In This Brawl?
In YGG Brawlers I had a record of five wins and one loss in a Wild Diamond fray:
I have actually defeated Bajakhan from Plan B, so I am pretty happy with it and my only loss came from Capricorn03 from Peakmonsters Hurricane which came in the fourth place close behind the KOG that took the third place.
Peakmonsters Hurricane is actually a backup guild for those that are working towards Plan B guild or are not competitive enough based on the win rate to be in Plan B. But it is also a super competitive guild even for tier five brawls. I was originally offered a choice to try out in Plan B or start in a slightly easier Peakmonsters Hurricane. Of course I went for the once in a lifetime opportunity to try myself in one of the top brawling guilds :)
In Plan B you can see that I did a bit worse this time with four wins and two losses and one of my losses came once again against a member of Peakmonsters Hurricane: Adamaro. I did defeat my opponent from the YGG Legion BurningGelk in this brawl.
You can also see that our rewards in merits were almost twice higher at ten thousand plus merits for a second place in this brawl. My SPS reward was also higher at 208.719 SPS.
Win Rates in Tier Five Brawls vs Ranked.
What I find interesting is that my win rates in tier five brawls are much higher than my win rates in Modern or Wild or even running a bot in Wild ranked. Ranked battles are much more competitive than brawling in Splinterlands even at the highest levels!
Take for example my last season in Wild running XBot:
That is only 51.34%! I tried many times playing manually and I would get even lower win rate in Wild so I gave up on that. And it is exactly the same deck that I am using for tier five brawls and get:
78.33% win rate over the last ten guild brawls in tier five. I am ranked number four in Plan B by the win rate of the last ten brawls right now. Such high win rate could be an accident in one, maybe two brawls in a row, but 10 brawls in a row? That is no accident!
This means that Wild ranked is way too competitive and is discouraging even for the best players to play against bots. Also, knowing you are playing against a bot and loosing is the worst feeling for a player!
I think this calls for a Human-Only Wild League in Splinterlands. I believe it would increase older card asset values, bring more players and help with player retention in Splinterlands if we split the ranked reward pool into three equal parts: 1. Modern-Human Only 2. Wild-Human Only and 3. Wild-Bots/Humans
Now that we could have liquidity bots in any league match liquidity should not be an issue...
@davemccoy what do you think? Is it something that could be a proposal @clayboyn? Maybe big SPS holders can chime in their thoughts on this as well? @bravetofu and @azircon?
