Hello everyone! 📷💦
On the periphery of my hometown, there is a local landmark known as the Sušec waterfall. In English, 'Sušec' means dry. And indeed, in summer, when there is no water, it is invisible, as everything is mostly dry. But in autumn, when there is a lot of rain, the waterfall awakens and water begins to gush out of every pore.
The Sušec stream flows past my house, then empties into the Reka River, which disappears into the Škocjan Caves. On the Italian side, near Devin, it reappears as the Timav River and flows into the Adriatic Sea.
Because it rained heavily last week, the waterfall appeared. As usual, after heavy rain, it's time to take a walk and see the waterfall. It's less than a kilometer's walk to get there.
By the way, I've been posting about this walk of mine on Hive since 2018; the waterfall remains the same. You can check it out @worldmappin @detlev. I last posted two years ago, but that's another story.
First, I go to the old part of town, to the houses next to the forest and the hill where the Sušec has its source.

Then I turn onto the footpath that leads to the waterfall. At this point, the stream is narrow, perhaps a meter and a half wide, but the water flows very quickly.

The first heavy rains have fallen, which in our region is usually a sign that summer is coming to an end. Nature is slowly changing from green to yellow, gold, and brown.

There is an increasing amount of foam on the water, and the flow is speedy.

We'll be there soon. You can already hear the roar of the waterfall.

Another hundred meters or so to the waterfall, and it's in the background; the whole area is already completely wet.

We are standing in front of the waterfall, water droplets are flying everywhere, and you can really feel the humidity. The waterfall is truly magnificent, and you have to shout to be heard over the roar of the water.
