Besan Laddu

The melt in your mouth Besan Laddu is a recipe handed down from generations. These Laddu are made on special occasions like festivals, weddings and ceremonies. They are made in many forms in almost every part of India. But it is very important to be patient while making these Laddu as it takes time to roast the Besan on low flame.

Lord Ganesha loves Laddu, so on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, I am making Besan Laddu as the first Bhog Prasad on the arrival of Lord Ganesha at my home.

Ingredients

1) Coarse Besan – 1.5 cups

2) Semolina – 1/4 cup

3) Ghee – 1/2 cup

4) Milk Powder – 1/2 cup

5) Powdered Sugar – 1/2 cup

6) Cardamom Powder – 1 tsp

7) Garnish – Dry Fruit Method:-

First of all, grind the sugar and make a powder. While grinding the sugar, add cardamom to it so that the powder of cardamom is also prepared and the laddu gets a very good taste and aroma.

Put gram flour in a pan.

Slow down the flame of the gas and roast the gram flour for 15 minutes. Then add semolina to it.

Roast it again and keep stirring the gram flour in between. It takes 1.5 hours to roast. When the gram flour starts roasting, add ghee to it.

Mix it well. Ghee is not added first in these laddus. Adding ghee first makes the mixture thick and it becomes difficult to roast it. When the aroma starts coming from the gram flour and the color of the gram flour becomes light brown.

Turn off the gas and let it cool down a bit. Now add milk powder and sugar powder to it.

If you knead it by hand, the mixture will look dry at this time But as you mix the mixture, the heat of your hands will melt the ghee and mix all the ingredients together Now, add small pieces of gram flour Make laddus of your desired size

Decorate them with dry fruits as per your choice When these laddus cool down completely Once done, store them in any airtight container. These laddoos will not spoil for 15-20 days. Whenever you feel like eating something sweet, eat them or feed them.
