Are your grandparents still around and living with your family?
Today, I want to share about my in-laws, my children’s grandparents and the love and care they give.
We're currently living near their home, so they often spend time with my children. My in-laws are very caring and affectionate to my children, they’re always carrying and cuddling our little one. Sometimes they carry them even though they are tired. Sometimes, Whenever my husband and I are busy with farm work, we leave our child in their care.
Since we live nearby, I often get to observe how they interact with my children. They tend to spoil them when I’m not around giving them whatever they asks for, whether it's food, toys, or other things.
There are moments when they misbehaves, and me and my husband try to discipline them, but my in-laws usually say, "they're still just a child. They don't know what theya re doing" I understand what they mean, but I also believe it’s important to correct children while they’re still young. Once they grow older and are set in their ways, it becomes harder to teach them right from wrong. But then, I always make sure to teach thrm if my in-laws are not arround.
Wherever my in-laws go, they always take our children with them. Because of that, I have more time to do things at home, and I can even go to the farm to work. Even during bedtime, they always ask to sleep beside their grandchildren. As if they are their own children.
I also have grandparents, but they live far from us, so we rarely get to see each other. Still, the love and care was there. My parents also live far from us now, which is why my children are not as close to them as my in-laws. But we make sure to tell our kids some stories about who their grandparents are, and we visit them whenever we have the time.
These days, whenever my parents come home, my children are always excited and happy because they know they’ll be spoiled again. Despite being tired, my parents always make sure to give time and attention to their grandchildren.
I sometimes think back to my own childhood and i can't help but compare how they raised me and how they treat their grandchildren. Honestly, my parents didn’t treat me that way back then. Hehe. But still, I’m so happy that they love my children so much. That alone is enough reason for me to continue loving and respecting them, even if we sometimes have misunderstandings.
