Hello to all the amazing parents here on Hive, especially here @motherhood community!
Another day means another update. I’m back again to share a little glimpse of my motherhood journey.
My 5-year-old son often goes with his father to the farm especially if the weather is nice. Even though his hands are small, he always makes sure to help in his own little way. Just like in the photo, they were spreading chicken manure in the fields, and he assisted in preparing the land where the carrots would be planted. It makes me happy to see that, despite his young age, he is eager to be helpful and never becomes a burden whenever he went on the farm.
As a mother, I feel so blessed because my child already understands the value of helping in such a young age. He even shows so much care for his father especially when he comes home late or gets caught in the rain while working at the farm. I am amazed that, at his age, he already understands many things and somehow grasps the life we live as farmers. At the same time, I sometimes feel a little sad that he’s already exposed to farm work instead of simply enjoying his childhood at home. We didn't asked him to go but he is the one insisting to go in the farm.
That’s why, as his mom, I make sure he still gets to enjoy being a child and his studies never suffer. He is now in kindergarten, and according to his teacher, he’s keeping up well with his classmates. At home, I let him finish his assignments first, then I encourage him to play with other kids. When he wants to go to the farm, I allow him, only if the weather is good and he finishes his homework. But on rainy days, I make him stay at home. In a way, I also see the good side of him joining his father on the farm, because if he only stayed at home, he wouldn’t truly understand our life as farmers. And at least when he’s at the farm, he’s not glued to gadgets because at home, especially when it rains and he’s done with his schoolwork, he tends to watch TV or play on the phone all the time which isn’t good for his health, especially that he has an eye condition.
That’s why as parents, I believe children are truly a blessing in our lives. Without them, we might never realize how beautiful life can really be.
That’s all for now, thank you for taking the time to read my simple motherhood blog. I really appreciate it 😊
Remember to always keep smiling.😊
Mabuhay!
