New day, New blessing!
Today is another special day for us and other church members as we continue working together to build our dream church. Every hammer, every smile, and every helping hand brings us one step closer to our dream. I’m truly thankful to the Lord for the gift of life and a new day.
Everyone helps in their own way, may it be men and women alike. We as women prepare food and serve coffee to the workers, while the men take charge of the building and construction work. We do this once a week, ever since the church construction began.
No one gets paid for their work, yes all is free of charge because everyone volunteers out of love and faith. Instead of hiring carpenters or construction workers, we decided to schedule one day every week. And we choose to spend the money that should be paid to the construction workers or carpenters on materials since building supplies are quite expensive nowadays.
It’s such a joyfully seeing everyone helping out, especially now that the church is nearly finished. We’re almost there, just a little more work and the roof and walls will soon be in place. And we can see the beautiful church that everyone's dreaming of, for a comfortable and spacious in serving of our Creator.
I feel so happy and blessed to witness the generosity and unity of so many kind-hearted people. The spirit of "Bayanihan" which is helping one another without expecting anything in return, truly lives on among us Filipinos, from the old days up until now.
